Alec Baldwin has been under scrutiny following a tragic shooting on the set of his movie Rust. The shooting took the internet by storm and has left many wondering what is going to happen to the famous Hollywood star.

Born in 1958 into an Irish Catholic family, Alec Baldwin started his career by appearing on various television shows during the early 80s. It didn’t take him long to move into film, starring as Jack Ryan series of movies alongside Harrison Ford & Sean Connery (Hunt For Red October; Patriot Games).
From then onwards, he only kept climbing up the Hollywood ladder of success; taking part in a plethora of classic films such as Beetlejuice (1988); Working Girl (1988); The Edge (1997); Glengarry Glen Ross (1992 ); The Cooler (2003 ) & The Departed (2006); among others throughout the years. Nowadays, Alec is most known for playing Donald Trump impersonations on Saturday Night Live or for starring on 30 Rock as charismatic characters Jack Donaghy and Tracy Jordan respectively.
Looking beyond his professional life, however, we find even more interesting aspects regarding Alec Baldwin’s life outside of Hollywood. We must not forget that Baldwin is also a passionate advocate for other causes -mostly focused on environmental and animal rights initiatives -which he has been involved with over several decades now. On top of that, he has also spent time trying to help out underprivileged communities – particularly those affected by natural disasters like Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy among others.
Finally, we return back to Alec Baldwin’s personal life: After having three previous marriages –one ending due to allegations of domestic abuse against him – he found love again with yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas whom he married soon afterward. Their union led to four children being born between 2014 & 2018!
From this aspect alone we can easily tell that Alec Baldwin remains one of those figures whose private & public lives intertwine seamlessly; showcasing an entirely different side within him than what audiences are used to while still maintaining strong connections with people around him despite all the fame & popularity associated with being an A-List celebrity!
The tragedy of Rust
On October 21st, 2021, Alec Baldwin fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. The gun was being used as a prop however a live round was loaded which led to the tragic event.
As reported on BBC News, “Santa Fe’s District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced the charges on Thursday, adding that they would be filed by the end of the month. “Actor and producer Alec Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed will each be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. I have determined that there is sufficient evidence. On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.””
Both Baldwin & Gutierrez Reed face up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted. They will be tried by a jury, prosecutors said. Another member of the crew, director Joel Souza, was also wounded but he won’t be pressing charges.
