Dana Carvey didn’t understand the Shane Gillis ‘SNL’ kerfuffle

According to Variety, “Saturday Night Live” alum Dana Carvey did not grasp the full extent of the backlash against Shane Gillis’ recent monologue on the sketch show.

Carvey said he “just saw it” as “a joke.”

Outrage followed after Gillis began his Oct. 10 SNL hosting appearance by targeting women at the gym with mockery.
