Is the cast of ‘Pretty Little Liars’ returning for a movie? What to know

Pretty Little Liars was such a popular television show even people who weren’t fans of the series know bits and pieces of the plot and characters – it was inevitable. Recently, like many casts of popular shows and movies, such as Community & Cheaper by the Dozen, the actors from Pretty Little Liars did a digital livestream reunion.

The stream was in partnership with Cast4Good, a group which works to connect fans and celebrities to support charity organizations. The PLL stream was to raise donations for Feeding America. The livestream, which was hosted by Damian Holbrook, also featured Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Ina Marlene King, Sahsa Pieterse, Troian Bellisario, Janel Parrish, Ian Harding, and Tyler Blackburn.

Keegan Allen was unable to attend the virtual hangout because of a poor wifi connection.

The livestream was filled with fun reveals about the making of Pretty Little Liars, silly stories, and many memories. This includes things like the reveal that Shay Mitchell would put images in her character’s locker as tiny Easter egg shoutouts to her friends and family. Lucy Hale also admitted to taking one of the posters from Ezra’s apartment as a keepsake – meanwhile Harding replied that he wished he had taken the creaky chair from the apartment set.

The show runner, King, assured fans Spoby would still be together and going strong as a couple. She further explained Spencer would be practicing law, Toby building houses, and the two would likely have kids.

Before the stream went live Shay Mitchell revealed the cast had about an hour to video chat together, without an audience, where everyone was able to catch up. Mitchell said it was “really, really special to be able to connect again”, especially with those she hasn’t been in close contact with for a while.

With all of this reunion talk some people started to wonder what the likelihood of a Pretty Little Liars movie was. Mitchell said in an interview with ET that you should “never say never” and that she would “jump on board for sure”.

However, she did also mention this brief online get-together likely wouldn’t have been able to happen if it had been an in-person reunion because of schedules. So this does make a movie seem slightly less likely.

Other cast news includes the happy announcement that Sasha Pieterse is pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband.
