The ARMY is going wild over BTS’s Jungkook and his manbun

Flawless style, incredible dance moves, and catchy tunes; it’s no surprise the international K-pop sensation BTS has made the headlines once again. The seven-man group has broken countless records and has become a trending topic – this time for group member Jungkook’s man bun. Yes, you read that correctly. 

Being the crowd-pullers they are, it’s no wonder talk show host Jimmy Fallon decided to dedicate one week of his show to BTS. During a performance on Monday night, BTS took us back to their Love Yourself: Answer era when they performed “IDOL” at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. Besides their killer choreography & impressive light show, fans were left drooling after seeing Jungkook’s new hairstyle.

Swooning

Jungkook’s man bun was so magnificent, it sent his fans around the world into a frenzy, causing him to be the number one trending topic on Twitter this week – worldwide and in the U.S. The twenty-three-year-old became a trending topic with more than one million mentions on the platform. Some fans tweeted:

Google also saw a huge spike in searches regarding Jungkook hairstyle with the words “bun-hairstyle” experiencing a 1,1000% rise in related topic searches. The amazing traditional outfits worn by BTS weren’t ignored as “hanbok-dress” also saw a similar surge in searches. (These guys are just too fashionable to handle.)

Artist spotlight

Although BTS comes in a pack, some members often outshine others at times – a situation in which Jungkook often finds himself. Jungkook is one of the most popular members of the K-pop group meaning most of what he endorses or uses immediately becomes the latest trend. 

After Jungkook was seen wearing a niche clothing brand called A Nothing, the clothing brand immediately saw a spike of social media followers. A Nothing took two years to attract one thousand followers; however, they gained eight thousand followers in just one day after Jungkook wore its apparel.

A little scoop

Besides Jungkook’s sensational man bun, let’s take a look at what’s going on with BTS. The last few weeks have been positive for the group with the release of BTS’s first all-English single, “Dynamite” that’s – you guessed it – number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  

“Dynamite” has also dominated the rankings of the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. BTS is currently preparing to release their new album Be on November 20.
