Find hope in Connie Jones trauma recovery book

Psychotherapist Connie Jones announced the release of her book Green Glitter Girl: A Journey of Hope and Trauma Recovery through a supplied press release dated Oct. 22, 2026. The announcement describes how repeated painful relationship dynamics, stress reactions or unwanted behaviors often signal patterns operating outside conscious awareness.

People frequently seek therapy after a crisis or when they notice a recurring painful behavior, Jones said in the release. That moment creates an opportunity to examine the beliefs, experiences and nervous-system responses beneath the surface.

The book blends Jones's personal journey of trauma survival with her clinical perspective. It aims to help readers understand the neurobiology of extreme stress while developing greater self-awareness, self-compassion and hope. Many patients have found that understanding their responses helped them break long-standing patterns, the announcement states.

Through the lens of nervous system science, the memoir examines how trauma reshapes the body. Recovery is presented not as simply getting over what happened but as the process of reclaiming a sense of safety, connection, voice and self.

Stephen Porges, Ph.D., creator of Polyvagal Theory, wrote the foreword. He describes Green Glitter Girl as a story that illustrates the human nervous system's capacity to adapt, survive and ultimately heal, according to the supplied announcement.

“I want to instill hope that, although readers may feel overwhelmed and stuck within their limited beliefs and self-sabotaging habits, they can be free from them,” Jones said in the release.

Torchflame Books published the title with ISBN-13 978-1611536102. It is available from Amazon and other retailers. Supporting material from the author's site lists an October 21, 2025 release date.

Jones is a psychotherapist with 34 years of experience. A Duke University psychology graduate, she developed an individualized approach in her private practice. As a survivor of early childhood trauma, she has been a resource for patients dealing with their own trauma. She lives in St. Louis with her husband of 30 years, Harry.

After completing the book in 2022, Jones began The Kindness Project with her granddaughter Eleanor. The project has distributed more than 1,800 angel tokens with encouraging messages to schools, retirement homes, workshops and restaurants. Jones ties the effort to a childhood act of kindness and a near-death experience at age three, viewing it as an expression of unconditional love that counters trauma.

The project is presented alongside the memoir as part of communicating the miracle of healing. Jones collaborated on the work with energy healer Melanie, who maintains the site greenglittergirl.com. Their shared commitment centers on the healing power of love, compassion and spiritual connections.
