This new trailer proves ‘Dune 2’ will be even *more* boring than ‘Dune’
The highly anticipated trailer for ‘Dune 2’ has been released, and the internet is buzzing with excitement. However, upon closer inspection, it’s becoming increasingly clear that the sequel to the 2020 film will be even more boring than its predecessor. Here’s a breakdown of why the new trailer is such a snooze-fest.
Same Old Story
Oh boy, it’s like we’re watching ‘Dune: The Remix’ or something. The first film was already a snoozefest, but now the sequel looks like it’s just going to copy and paste the same old story. Yawn. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a good hero’s journey, but when it’s done the same way over and over again, it gets old real quick. Well, sorry guys, we noticed. And we’re not impressed.
And let’s not forget about the desolate landscapes – because nothing screams “exciting” like a barren wasteland, right? I get that the story is set on a desert planet, but come on, let’s spice things up a bit. Throw in a palm tree or something. It’s almost as if the filmmakers were too lazy to come up with any new ideas for the sequel. It feels like we’ve seen it all before, and there’s nothing exciting about it.
It’s as if the crew just said, “screw it, let’s do the same thing again and hope no one notices.” The first reason why ‘Dune 2’ looks like it’s going to be a bore-fest is that it seems to be following the same tired old storyline as the first film. We have the same cast of characters, the same desolate landscapes, and the same “hero’s journey” narrative.
Lackluster Acting
Another issue with the trailer is that the acting seems to be even more lackluster than in the first film. It’s as if the actors are going through the motions, with none of the passion or energy that would make the audience care about their characters. It’s hard to get invested in a film when you’re not invested in the people on screen. Now let’s talk about the acting. Or lack thereof.
We mean, we know it’s hard to bring life to a character when the script is as dry as the desert they’re standing in, but come on. The performances in the trailer are just… meh. Timothee Chalamet, We love you, but you look like you’re half asleep in every scene. And don’t even get us started on Jason Momoa. He’s supposed to be the badass warrior, but he comes across as more of a surfer who got lost.
And it’s not just the leads – the supporting cast doesn’t seem to be doing much better. Oscar Isaac looks like he’s phoning it in, and Stellan Skarsgård looks like he’s about to fall asleep. Maybe they’re all just exhausted from standing around in the sand all day, but if that’s the case, maybe they should have thought twice about signing on for this snooze fest.
Snooze-Worthy Action
Honestly, there are plenty of other actors who would have killed to be a part of this franchise and actually bring some energy to the roles. But this is the cast that we’ll have to watch the movie with. Now, let’s analyze the action.
Finally, the action in the ‘Dune 2’ trailer is underwhelming. The fight scenes lack any real tension or excitement, and the special effects feel uninspired. It’s as if the filmmakers are trying to coast on the success of the first film without putting in any real effort to make the sequel stand out.
Overall, it looks like ‘Dune 2’ is shaping up to be a disappointment. From the same old story to the lackluster acting and snooze-worthy action, there’s not much to get excited about. Here’s hoping that the filmmakers can inject some life into the film before its release.
