Grammy-winning producer Detail: Is he a sexual predator?

Have you ever listened to Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning hit “Drunk in Love”? You might think about the song differently after the latest news about the song’s co-writer Detail. Detail has had a very successful career – producing hits like “We Dem Boyz” by Wiz Khalifa & “Sexy Can I” by Ray J. 

Detail’s career, however, may come to a crashing halt indefinitely. According to USA Today, Detail was arrested on over fifteen charges of sexual assault on Wednesday. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation based on multiple sexual assault allegations that were made between 2010 & 2018. 

Fan’s of Detail’s work may stop listening to the music he has produced after all the details have unfolded. We’re digging into Detail’s record to explore the charges that condemn him as a sexual predator. 

Who is Detail?

Professionally the American record producer, rapper, & singer is known as Detail but his real name is Noel Fisher. Though the producer has released albums featuring himself as a singer – he’s probably best known for all of the hit singles that he has produced with A-list musicians. 

Beyond “Drunk in Love” & “Sexy Can I” – you may have heard Detail’s work in songs like “I’m So Paid” by Akon, “How to Love” by Lil Wayne”, & “711” by Beyoncé. Many of his songs have gone on to be top hits and he even received a Grammy for producing “Drunk In Love” which was performed by Beyoncé & Jay-Z and he has been nominated twice.  

Allegations against Detail

Though Detail has had an illustrious career, he has also been accused of physical & mental abuse as well as sexual assault &  rape. The names coming forward have developed a strong case against him which has led to his arrest. 

The case against Detail started back in 2018 when Kristina Buch & Peyton Ackley reported Detail to legal authorities. Buch & Ackley allege that Detail raped & beat them – even forcing them to have sex with him in front of other people. For their protection, the women issued restraining orders against Detail. 

Following Buch & Ackley’s lead, several other women came forward with similar stories. In fact, Jessie Reyez – Canadian singer & songwriter – accused Detail of sexual misconduct and revealed that her song “Gatekeeper” is actually inspired by him. Bebe Rexha has also accused him of inappropriate behavior in the studio. 

Cases against Detail

According to The Guardian, multiple women have filed lawsuits against Detail including music-industry newcomers, professionals, & former assistants. A model & aspiring singer won her $15 million lawsuit against him, accusing him of rape & abuse.  

In total, detectives have accumulated “15 sexual assault charges and five additional felony assault-related charges were filed” against Detail. His bail was set at $6,290,000.  

Though the evidence against Detail is overwhelming, he is likely to deny any culpability. Noel Fisher’s attorney attests to this, saying:

“Mr. Fisher was just arrested some hours ago and I have not had an opportunity to speak to him or look at the charges. I am quite certain he will enter a not guilty plea and contest to the fullest all of these allegations.” 

Like most cases of sexual assault against big names like Detail – there are likely many victims who have not come forward. To get justice for crimes against them, authorities are working on making sure these survivors are found. LASD made a statement on the matter:

“Based on the nature of the allegations, SVB detectives believe there may be additional potential victims and they are seeking the public’s help in identifying any such victims.”
