Did Boris Johnson actually cheat on his ex-wife? The new allegations
Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the UK, faces new allegations of having an affair with U.S. tech entrepreneur Jennifer Arcuri. Amidst the coronavirus pandemic and recent low approval ratings, Johnson is now facing further allegations which began in 2019.
Arcuri recently came forward and admitted to the alleged affair she had with the Prime Minister. These allegations also have potential legal implications for Boris Johnson. Here are some more details on the alleged affair.
Sordid details
According to The National, Arcuri admitted to having an affair with Johnson during his marriage to Marina Wheeler. Arcuri claimed Johnson frequently visited Arcuri’s apartment for “technology tutorials”.
In an interview with Daily Mail, Arcuri describes her alleged relationship with the Prime Minister.
“I think that goes without saying. It’s pretty much out there. There are romantic men and there are jesters of romance like Boris (Johnson), and they’re not the same thing. My higher self, the woman I would be in the future, said, ‘This guy is not the one you’re supposed to have a family with.’ Boris wanted to drink wine, have sex, and be totally involved in politics.”
The pair met in 2011 and according to The New York Post, Arcuri said the affair occurred “over years”.
Arcuri told The Daily Mail she’s speaking out now because she’s frustrated at being portrayed as “this temptress American bimbo who came over to this country and took advantage of an emotionally weak leader”.
Money matters
Prime Minister Boris Johnson was under investigation for money spent towards Arcuri but he avoided a criminal probe after police found no evidence Johnson spent thousands of UK pounds of public money on Arcuri. Police also suspected Johnson of spending public money towards securing “her place on foreign trade trips led by him”.
“They claim I profited financially from my friendship with Boris,” Arcuri exclaimed. “It’s not true.”
The IOPC (Independent Office for Police Conduct) said Prime Minister Johnson should have provided information about the rumors as these allegations could have been a “breach in the Greater London assembly’s code of conduct”.
Michal Lockward, the IOPC director general released a statement, admitting “No evidence to suggest that those officers making decisions about sponsorship monies and attendance on trade missions thought that there was a close relationship between Mr. Johnson and Ms. Arcuri and this influenced their decision making.”
Old rumors
According to The New York Post, these allegations of an affair go back to 2019. The allegations began while Johnson was mayor of London, suggesting Arcuri had an affair with Johnson – and he paid money and provided perks to his mistress.
London’s law enforcement investigated the allegations by using the country’s police watchdog. The city found Arcuri’s tech company, Hacker House, received “favorable treatments as a result of her friendship with Johnson while he served as the mayor of London”.
Hacker House received a grant of $130,000, which was intended for a British-operated business. However, Hacker House relocated to California later in the year.

Whether the allegations are true or not, the two appear to have moved on with other people. Boris Johnson settled down with fiancee Carrie Symonds from 2018, who gave birth to the Prime Minister’s son, Wilf, earlier this year. Arcuri is married to Matthew Hickey and has a three-year-old daughter.
