From topping the music charts, selling out packed stadiums, to releasing documentaries, what more could the lovely Ariana Grande accomplish in her career? When it seemed like she had already gifted her fans with all that she could this year, the “Positions” superstar proved the fun didn’t stop there when she announced she was also joining The Voice as a judge & coach, and we’re absolutely thrilled to hear the news.
The big announcement
We’re sure NBC has prepared itself for the huge rise in views The Voice is about to get next season now that Ariana Grande has announced she’ll be a judge on the show, as she’s only one of the biggest and most famous pop stars in the entire world. The Grammy-winning singer shared this exciting news to the world on her new endeavor on Tuesday morning to her social media.
In her announcement post on Instagram, it seems that Ariana Grande is already practicing her judge position on The Voice, as the celeb stands perched on top of one of the judge chairs that reads “I want you” and grins in a leopard-print dress, leopard-print heels, and a black corset.
Her Instagram caption reads: “surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice ! 🤍 @nickjonas we will miss you”. Of course, this news shocked & excited Arianators everywhere, and responses to her announcement have been buzzing with joy for the pop singer so far.
Expressing her excitement
In a press release, Ariana Grande further expressed her excitement to be a judge on The Voice, and said: “I’m so honored and excited to join The Voice family! I have been a huge fan of the show for such a long time”. The pop singer added: “I can’t wait to go head-to-head with the incredible coaches, get to know these new artists and help to take their craft to the next level”.
Another source added to Page Six that: “Ariana is a huge fan of The Voice and her management team has been negotiating to get her on the show for a while. She is replacing Nick Jonas, who is a [coach] on the current season, but he isn’t leaving for good. Nick will remain on rotation with other stars that have appeared on the show. The chances are he will be back soon”.
Nick Jonas, who she’s replacing the role of, first joined The Voice family in season 18 of the show when he filled in Adam Levine’s spot, and Gwen Stefani even momentarily took over in the big red judge chair for season 19. Now though, fans are excited to see what the Grammy-winning “34+35” singer will be bringing to the table next season. We’re sure it’ll be great.
A huge star
We’re positive that NBC is beyond elated for Ariana Grande to join The Voice family, as she’s one of the biggest superstars in the world currently. The pop singer’s most recent album, Positions, was her fifth number one album on the Billboard 200 chart. The artist also boasts the record of having one of the most Hot 100 hits amongst other women musicians at number four.
Grande is also the number one most streamed woman artist of the last decade on Spotify, and has more than 82 million followers on Twitter, which is far higher than her coach counterparts on the show. We know that millions of Arianators already have high expectations for next season now and are itching to tune in. Season twenty-one will be kicking off September 20th, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.
