Anastasiia Dymchenko – A Rising Star in the Making
The 76th Cannes Film Festival was held May 16, 2023 to May 27, 2023. Actors, producers, filmmakers and industry professionals hailed from all over the world to celebrate the art of filmmaking and acting. World renown professionals grace the red carpet at this festival, appearing in all the glitz and glam for the vast media coverage. This year, we saw many of our favorite actors at the Cannes Film Festival like Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, and Robert DeNiro. Among these famous faces, we also saw the all-famous, international model, actress, and influencer, Anastasiia Dymchenko. We had the opportunity to speak with Anastasiia and get to know her and learn about the many projects she’s currently working on.
Anastasiia, you were on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 76; tell us about your experience – how did it go?
Attending the Cannes Film Festival was an amazing experience. I love this festival for its big scale, attracting professionals and celebrities from all parts of the world! I was at the premiere of Firebrand, which had prestigious leading actors such as Alicia Vikander, Jude Law, Eddie Marsan, Sam Riley. I had the opportunity to walk alongside famous media influencers and actors, such as Gigi Hadid, Dua Lipa, Irina Shayk, Bebe Rexha, Leonardo DiCaprio. It was so exciting to be among such a high caliber of people who I admired for a long time!
Is it your first time on the red carpet?
This is actually my fourth time at a red carpet event. Previously, I attended two red carpet events in Venice and this is my second time attending the Cannes Film Festival event. Each experience is different and holds a level of nervousness and excitement as I get to interact with many famous individuals, celebrating their accomplishments and my own.
We know you were a model in the past; what propelled you toward a career in acting?
My modeling journey began when I was just 16 years old, still living in Russia. Shortly after that, I got my first modeling contract in China in 2018, an experience that gave me the courage to pursue and conquer my modeling career in Milan. I enjoyed a fun and fulfilling career of modeling for four blissful years in Milan.
I was able to garner a lot of recognition and win several beauty contests including World Top Model of Italy 2018. I also participated in Miss Moscow, Miss Supertalent of the World, etc. However, I was always attracted to the acting world from a young age. After completing my education at an acting academy and earning a degree in journalism, I began my acting career as a weather reporter for a TV channel in Russia. Those beginning steps of working for a news channel grew into bigger opportunities that led me to various acting roles in different TV shows and commercials across Russia and Italy.
We just heard that you are getting ready to release a song first – is this your first song? What is it about?
Music has always been a passion of mine and a couple years ago, I began pursuing a singing career and absolutely fell in love with it! I released a song in duet with Sergey Papikyan, entitled “Dance and Smile” in Russian. It is in the dance genre and can now be found on YouTube. I will let you in on a little secret; I’m also currently working on my very own song right now!
What are your future goals for your acting career?
I recently moved to London to pursue my passion for acting. My dream is to be in big movies that people all over the world love. I’m working hard to become the best actress I can be and I’m excited about the opportunities that are coming my way.
Right now, I’m involved in some exciting projects and I’m partnering with other professionals in the industry. I’m dedicated to my career and I have the support of people who believe in me. Acting is not just a job for me, it’s a part of who I am. It inspires me and makes me feel alive and
I can’t imagine doing anything else.
What social media platforms do you use, and how big is your following?
Currently, I use Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook as my main social media platforms to express myself and connect with others. Instagram is special to me because I can share glimpses of my daily life, travel experiences, and my acting journey in a personal way.
I also enjoy TikTok, which allows me to create short and creative videos that engage audiences. Although Instagram is currently my favorite platform, I believe TikTok has the potential to become a leading force in social media. Its unique features and rapid growth could help me reach a wider audience and connect with people who love the performing arts.
