Exclusive Interview: Rising Artist Sean Barrelz

What is your name and what city do you rep?

Sean Barrelz I rep The Bronx first, New York City and New York as a whole state.

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

“A Reason” I heard the beat and put it together after. I had “Know What It Is” for awhile as far as the hook and the sample I wanted to use, I just didn’t record it. I put the verses together when I recorded it. To create them, life inspired me.

What is unique about you and your music?

I’m really not sure, that’s hard to answer.

What shaped your music? 

The environment, surroundings I grew up in and my experiences positive or negative.

What type of music do you listen to? 

I listen to all genres.

What inspires you to write music? 

Life experiences inspire me. I’ve seen a lot and been through a lot.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about? 

Music is everything to me, creatively or otherwise I’m passionate about

everything.

Everything is everything.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out? 

At this moment I can’t really answer that. Maybe as time goes on I will be able to answer.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

I have a mental rolodex of material, I’m just trying to situate everything. There definitely will be more singles, ep’s, a debut album, features and so on.
