Suzanne Von Schaack, an iconic figure in the fashion and film industry, has a career marked by fascinating versatility and impressive achievements. Von Schaack, always on the lookout for a new artistic challenge, decided to plunge into the world of acting. Her studies in acting in New York City culminated in her debut movie role in “Tootsie.” Her move to Los Angeles opened up more opportunities to showcase her acting prowess, with appearances in iconic TV series such as Dallas, Dynasty, Ally McBeal, The Young and the Restless, and Jay Leno’s show. Her acting credits also include roles alongside the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Woody Allen, Fred Williamson, Don Wilson, Peter Marshall, Stacy Keach, Gary Busey, James Franco, and Dabney Coleman.
After years in front of the camera, Von Schaack shifted her focus to behind-the-scenes roles, taking on the hat of producer. She began producing high-end fashion shows for various charity foundations and LA Fashion Week.She expanded her skill set to include video documentary productions for corporate companies and product launches.
Despite her commitments as a producer, Von Schaack chose to remain in front of the camera, reigniting her passion for acting. In 2019 she accepted a friend’s challenge to create her own short film, “The Chains That Bind,” a project where she served as writer, producer, and star. The short film received accolades at various film festivals, winning a Silver Telly in 2021.
Encouraged by the success of her debut film, Von Schaack wrote and produced a sequel, “The Wonder of Love,” a multi-award-winning film that garnered a Gold Telly Award in 2023. She is currently in the process of penning the third film of the trilogy, which she plans to merge into a feature film.
Aside from her contributions to the fashion and film industry, Von Schaack is a philanthropist at heart, collaborating with non-profit organizations to mentor youth. She developed a Life Skills Program using acting and modeling skills to uplift self-esteem, targeting organizations such as Los Angeles Unified, “L.A.’s Best” After School Program, and the LAPD Gang Violence and Pregnancy Prevention Programs.
Von Schaack is also an accomplished author. Her book “Modeling Success,” published in 2021, quickly became an award-winning bestseller and is available on Amazon.
