Having moved to Los Angeles during her high school years, Vela was captivated by visually appealing designs from an early age. Her desire to remedy visually unpleasant designs grew throughout her adolescence, culminating in her pursuit of a career in design. With the education she received at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television and College of Fine Arts, Vela transformed her passion into a thriving profession.
A crucial component of Vela’s success as a designer is her belief that graphic design is not just about art and technology but also empathy. This perspective allows her to build strong rapport with clients and deliver designs that truly resonate with them. Her
impressive background includes working with a variety of clients and projects, showcasing her adaptability and dedication to her craft.
Vela’s diverse work experience includes collaborating with artists to create visually stunning assets for album releases, branding, and tour schedules. Her keen eye for detail and unique flair have led to her designs being used in a range of digital and print assets for marketing and social campaigns. She has also been involved in photographing events, locations, and portraits for promotional materials presented to prestigious organizations such as the United Nations.
As a freelance graphic designer, Vela’s creative prowess extends across international borders, having designed assets like business cards, logos, and packaging for clients in the automotive, education, and food industries. Her photography work has captured

One of Vela’s most notable projects is “NFT-New Feminists’ Territory,” a unique combination of art and activism designed to raise money to support women’s financial literacy. By addressing historical and contemporary financial inequalities faced by women, Vela’s groundbreaking project combines her passion for art with a mission to make a positive impact on the lives of women worldwide. This project demonstrates her commitment to using her talents for good causes and making a positive impact in
Vela’s dedication to her craft has been recognized in various art exhibitions, such as the Young Contemporaries Art Exhibition and Open Your Eyes Senior Design Exhibition at the Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University. As a Soho House Fellow,
she enjoys a complimentary one-year membership to the exclusive club, granting her the opportunity to connect with other creatives in that community. This accomplishment is particularly impressive for someone of her age and speaks to her potential in the design industry.
Her work on a Netflix-sponsored film showcases her adaptability and ability to cater to a wide array of clients, further solidifying her position as a sought-after professional in the design world.
As Vela continues to expand her design repertoire, her latest creation is a testament to her innovation and artistic vision. Introducing “CLAY,” an art deco style, sophisticated modern display typeface that beautifully combines her love for typography and ceramic
art. Inspired by the pottery wheel and the delicate craftsmanship of ceramics, each letter in the CLAY typeface is thoughtfully constructed using organic shapes, perfect circles, half-circles, perfect curves, straight lines, and precise angles.
CLAY is Vela’s first foray into typeface design, and it showcases her ability to translate her passion for design into a unique and visually captivating font. The typeface’s art deco aesthetic exudes an air of elegance and refinement, making it perfect for use in
branding, packaging, and editorial designs that require a touch of sophistication. With the creation of the CLAY typeface, Vela has once again demonstrated her remarkable talent and versatility as a designer, and it is undoubtedly just the beginning of her
