Dylan Besseau, 26 years old French producer gets honorable mention at Student World Impact Film Festival 2023
Dylan Besseau is a young director and producer who won the prestigious honorable mention at the
2023 Student World Impact Festival, a festival bringing together several thousand emerging talents
around the world. More than 120 countries were represented during this competition, although he
did not win the first prize, his film “The Venus Chained” which he produced with his director friend
Guillaume Gevart obtained the prestigious honorable mention of the festival.
This director of Vietnamese origin began his career with French director Jean-Yves Bilien. He then
created the French audiovisual agency “Artwooks Media”. One thing led to another, he made his
way in the French audiovisual sector and contributes to spreading French cinema thanks to his
achievements such as his documentary “The legend of Thierry Mauvignier” available on Plex and
Prime Video which immerses us in the filming of ‘a film by Thierry Mauvignier.
With the support of a Rothschild, Dylan was able to produce the documentary “The Venus
Chained.” This film addresses the sensitive subject of women in prostitution in France, it highlights
the association “Mouvement du Nid” through two activists who fight every day to improve the
living conditions of women leaving prostitution, in helping them find new work, housing and
decent living conditions. It is this documentary that moved the SWIFF 2023 jury through a
universal and humanist message.
