The Best Cars Used in ‘The Fast and the Furious’
The first The Fast and the Furious movie was released in 2001, and many more have followed. The movies make us all anxious to see what happens next–what does Dom do next? Which is the fastest car? How fast are the races?. They feature a lot of fast cars and races. Every 2-3 years, there’s a new movie featuring crazy adventures and amazing rides. Fast and Furious is all about sports cars, muscle cars, races, and chases. The movies are filmed on the streets of popular American and international cities. They are so famous their merchandise sells very fast–T-shirts, car images, and posters.
Here are 3 of the most spectacular rides from The Fast and the Furious.
2012 Lexus LF-A
In the movie Fast Five, this car has a very short appearance. We see it in the end as Han’s ride, but most car enthusiasts have never forgotten about it. After the group carries out the vault heist in the movie, they each get a good share of the earnings. We’re shown what each character does with their money, including Han. He buys a brand new sports car and drives towards Berlin with Gisele Yashar. But despite being Han’s new prized possession, we never see the car in the subsequent movies.
The 2012 Lexus LFA’s pricing starts at $375,000. The car features a 4.8-liter V10 engine that produces 552 horsepower. Its 6-speed automated transmission sends power to the rear wheels, and the car is lightweight because it’s made of aluminum and carbon-fiber.
Corvette Grand Sport
This awesome sports car is seen in Fast Five and is driven by Toretto. In the scene, he drives the car after he and O’Connor try to escape a speeding train. The car used in Fast Five isn’t an original because there are very few original Corvette Grand Sports cars left.
According to Motor Trend, Chevrolet designed the car specifically for 1960 races because it was powerful and light. And even if it was a replica, we think it looked spectacular in the movie. When it comes to cars used in movies, there aren’t many masterpieces–but this one is.
Ford GT40
This is another ultra-rare car that appeared in The Fast and Furious: Fast Five. It was one of the cars stolen by Dom and his crew. He dismantles the vehicle to find out why Crime Lord Hernan Reyes desperately wants it. He soon discovers that the car holds a valuable computer chip which shows the locations of 10 “cash houses” holding $10 million each. As you would expect, Dom and Brian put together a team and steal the money.
While The Fast and the Furious movies didn’t get famous based on the beautiful cars–the main characters are very talented–it features some of the most beautiful and powerful cars we’ve ever seen. We can’t wait to see what the next movie brings–especially the cars. We’re sure there’ll be more scene-stealing vehicles in the franchise.
