Stefano Cilio Wins Career Diamond Record
Stefano Cilio is a hitmaker, a producer of songs that have allowed him to achieve the rare diamond certification, marking equivalent sales of 10+ platinum records all over the world. To celebrate, the artist wrote a sober Instagram post showing feelings and presenting the plaque.
His songs were a smash across formats, and had over 30 million streams in few months, making him the first italian ever to get a platinum record in South Africa and Hungary.
Indeed, many of the fond memories are associated with his first album’s release: “Golden” went to number 1 on the italian electronic chart and won a gold record (his first one in the LP cathegory).
Stefano noted that the diamond plaque is also a big win for Italy, the country where he was born and raised, and for Milan, his hometown city. “Breathless” was the lead single, having been awarded 5 platinum records, followed by “Glance”, his debut song that granted him 4 platinum records. “Tonight” is at the third place in this special chart with 2 platinum awards.
Most recently, Stefano Cilio released the single “Leave”, a dance-pop ballad that confirmed his great talent in electronic music production. After the 2022 hits “Queen” (number 1 on Shazam Italy) and “Love”, 2023 began with good vibes for the Milanese, ready to breakout charts again with his happy and uptempo tunes.
Cilio’s chart record stats include the number one position on Spotify, as “Tonight” was leading romanian streaming leader chart in November 2021, and a large number of chart entries in various countries such as Greece, Egypt, even Japan, Netherlands, home country Italy, US, Canada, Austria, Hungary and South Africa.
Stefano joins a very short group of artists being able to get that important certification, awarded by IFPI in its territories. Other diamond-certified songs include “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber, “Firework” by Katy Perry, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott featuring Drake as well as “Havana” by Camila Cabello and “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor.
Music is Cilio’s first love as he also hosts a very important radio show in Italy, “Rit Parade”, on national network Radio Cusano Campus (member of Cusano Media Group alongside with TV channel Cusano Italia TV). The show he runs is a popularity chart, a top-30 hit parade based not only on streaming/downloads, but also on radio spins, video plays and track identifications.
“Rit Parade” is considered an official italian chart, being also listed on prestigious music site Rockol, and is very popular in Italy and abroad since it is considered the “most realistic” chart. “Rit Parade Day By Day” is the new show hosted by Stefano on the same radio, it mixes chart songs with former charting tunes (“Rit Back” and “Mezzo Secolo Di Ritornelli” are the spots in the program featuring old songs) and future possible “Rit Parade” new entries.
