Our Revolution spotlights progressive surge midterms six days out

With six days remaining until Election Day, Our Revolution is intensifying its get-out-the-vote operations. The organization is mobilizing volunteers to place calls and send texts in pursuit of 5 million voter contacts and has reached roughly three-quarters of that target while also preparing election-protection measures.

Executive Director Joseph Geevarghese is available for interviews on the progressive energy in the midterms, the final organizing push, concerns about election interference and what Democrats must deliver if they secure a congressional majority. The availability follows President Trump’s announcement of a $1 million reward for voter-fraud information leading to a conviction and the Justice Department’s effort to block certification of Alaska’s Senate race in certain circumstances if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses.

Progressive candidates have become standard-bearers in battleground contests and are placing working-class priorities, oligarchy and corruption at the center of the Democratic debate. Senate candidates include Angie Nixon, Abdul El-Sayed and Troy Jackson, while House contenders include Bob Brooks, William Lawrence, Sam Forstag, Brian Poindexter and Randy Villegas.

Joseph Geevarghese, Our Revolution Executive Director, said: “Working people understand oligarchy and corruption far better than the pundits give them credit for—they’re paying the price every day. Progressives have put that fight at the center of this election. If Democrats win a majority, we’ll have to fight an establishment tempted to appease donors, retreat to the center and lower expectations—when voters are demanding accountability for Trump, a confrontation with corporate power and real economic relief.”

Geevarghese can discuss the progressive surge and how Senate and House candidates are testing a working-class economic populist message in critical battlegrounds. He can address why the anti-oligarchy message resonates and how progressives placed concentrated corporate power and corruption at the center of the Democratic debate. He can also cover the final GOTV push toward 5 million contacts and the races where grassroots organizing could prove decisive, as well as concerns about voter intimidation, certification challenges and efforts to undermine confidence in results.

Geevarghese is further available to discuss the importance of organizing beyond Election Day to hold Trump accountable while confronting corporate power and delivering relief on healthcare, wages and everyday costs, along with how the midterms will shape the contest over Democratic leadership and the party’s economic agenda ahead of 2028. Independent reporting shows the Justice Department has begun notifying counties in Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Texas and Washington of plans to send election monitors, describing the effort as potentially the largest in department history with 1,000 observers. In the 2022 midterms the department monitored 64 jurisdictions in 24 states. Some local officials have raised questions about the selection of jurisdictions and possible political motivations, particularly in competitive districts or those covered by Voting Rights Act language-access provisions, while the department states it prioritizes competitive elections and legal compliance.

Our Revolution is America’s largest grassroots independent political organizing group, born out of Senator Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign, and focuses on mobilizing communities, electing progressive champions and transforming the Democratic Party to serve people rather than corporate interests.
