Chicago Script to Screen returns: Independent film festival 2027

Chicago SCRIPT to SCREEN returns on March 20, 2027. The festival unites screenwriters, filmmakers, actors, and decision-makers to celebrate independent storytelling in Chicago. It showcases films, screenplays, television pilots, and digital content. Activities include professional table reads, networking opportunities, and creative community events that build connections for all involved in independent film projects. This event offers a vibrant space where talent can connect and showcase their work to industry professionals.

Founded by festival producers Jessica Hardy and Brent Kado, Chicago SCRIPT to SCREEN assists independent talent in turning their projects into career opportunities. Selected writers gain professional readings and exposure to industry agents, producers, and filmmakers. International submissions are now open through FilmFreeway and ISA. The program supports writers by offering these resources to help launch their work successfully in the competitive entertainment field. This support is crucial for independent creators seeking to break into the industry and establish lasting professional relationships with key players.

Past winners from the festival have signed with top agencies like CAA, UTA, WME, ICM, The Cartel, Innovative and Zero Gravity. This achievement highlights how the event helps independent talent secure representation and advance their careers in the industry. Such outcomes underscore the festival's role in launching careers.
