‘Variety’ previews David Macias book on algorithm’s music toll

Variety reports exclusively that Thirty Tigers President David Macias is previewing his first book, Circulation, described as an examination of what gets lost when the algorithm dominates music consumption.

Variety highlights the question of whether people have been listening to more music while enjoying it less, with David Macias thinking an over-reliance on the algorithm might be the culprit since the system keeps feeding fans more of what they want or are presumed to want.
