Kenny Ortega serves as executive producer on ‘Lego Friends: Heartlake the Musical,’ ‘Variety’ reports

Kenny Ortega serves as executive producer on the 50-minute Lego Friends: Heartlake the Musical, which arrives October 16, 2026, on Lego’s YouTube channel, Peacock, and Netflix, according to Variety.

Ortega helped shape the story and choreography, chose longtime collaborator Paul Becker to direct, picked London as the location, and assembled an all-British cast of “triple threats,” the report states.

He says Lego has been “part of my life for over 30 years” and calls the film an experiment in virtual production on a giant curved LED screen. The plot follows young Daisy (Jada Langley), who is transported to Heartlake City, makes friends, and helps save a landmark.

Ortega notes he had to “age down” his usual style for viewers ages five and up, and he already has ideas for a sequel.
