The best downtown Memphis restaurants you should try

For the past several years a lot of time and money has been put into the city of Memphis to restore and revitalize the downtown area. The historic hotels, shops, and music establishments that were made famous by the superstars that used them. But, that is not enough. Memphis is famous for its great food. Yes, Memphis has world-class  Bar-B-Que, but downtown Memphis restaurants that anyone would enjoy.

Downtown Dining Week, November 2020

November 1st through 7th, 2020 (subject to change) is Downtown Dining Week in Memphis. More than 60 restaurants are hosting specials with beautiful menu choices, fine dining inside, patio dining, even specials on take-out. This is a chance to sample all the foods that are featured in this major city and not just the Bar-B-Que, Fried Chicken, and Southern dishes Memphis is known for.

  • Consider adding to your fun with free Bike Shares all week.
  • Make reservations. Many restaurants fill up quickly for dinner.
  • Tip big. Your servers are the stars of the week. Remember, you are getting a nice discount, so you can afford to be a big shot!
  •   If you visit Beale Street before dinner, do not drink too much. Some meals come with wine.              
  • Make a list of the food you want to sample on-site and what you want to order as takeout.
  • Arrange your map accordingly.

Aldo’s Pizza Pie

The minute you walk in, you feel like you are in New York. The sauce is to die for and the toppings are seasoned perfectly. You have to believe it, this is the way real pizza is made.

Arcade Restaurant

This is nostalgic and fun for a great place to eat breakfast or lunch. You will be seated between the 1950s and 1960s signs.

Soul Fish Cafe doesn’t sound like somewhere you would go for dessert. But there are lots of folks who would argue with your opinion. Soul Fish Cafe is famous for the best Lemon Pie in the south. You can get other good cakes and pies from the menu as well as your catfish, greens, fries, and beans. But day after day they serve up tall slices of the best Lemon Pie you ever tasted. 

So, make your way to Memphis folks. If you like to party, eat, and have a good time. This is the time to get there. We will see you there!
