Missed the Netflix free trial and craving some free entertainment? Here are the best streaming services you can join for free.

Miss free Netflix trials? Use these streaming sites for free instead

If there’s one thing we can rely on to ease our quarantine-induced boredom, it’s streaming services. With people stuck at home, giants like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime have pocketed millions of new subscribers. Their runaway success during what possibly might be the worst year of our lives speaks to our insatiable need for entertainment.

Unfortunately, these streaming giants have largely snuffed out our media frenzy. First, Disney removed its seven-day free trial, and now Netflix has canceled the offer for potential subscribers to test the service with a free trial. What a bummer!

With behemoth studios going digital, a whole new era of streaming is brewing, and folks have no option but to turn to video streaming services for entertainment. However, if you’re on a tight budget, subscribing to streaming services can seem a bit pricey. Don’t worry! You can still watch awesome content without breaking the bank, here’s the list of platforms you can consider.

Popcornflix

Popcornflix is probably one of the most popular Netflix alternatives on the market. You can bingewatch for hours on end without paying a cent. Only downside: you will have to sit through multiple advertisements which can be annoying but hey – it’s no different than what you get on cable TV.

Plus, there is no hassle of signing up for any kind of trial. Popcornflix’s simple & straightforward design makes it easier to sift through its hundreds of titles.

Crackle

Crackle is one of the few legit apps that has been around for a long time, and yet the service still one of the best places that offer completely free streaming. The platform is ad-supported and has a wide range of shows in its catalog.

As with any free streaming platform, you will not be able to catch any latest release on Crackle. Besides the host of cult favorites, Crackle also provides original content. The user interface is uncomplicated and content is laid out in a manageable way.

Tubi TV

With Tubi’s streamlined experience and a massive library of on-demand shows and movies, you’ll wonder how this platform is free.

Tubi TV boasts content from studios like Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM. Advertised as a “prescription for your subscription fatigue”, you can choose from a range of curated lists that even include a bold “Not on Netflix” category. As with Popcornflix and Crackle, you’ll run into some ads, but the quality content makes up for it.

Vudu

Vudu is a center for buying & renting out movies but it also offers a plethora of classics that you can watch for free. This Walmart-owned platform is again ad-supported but has relatively fewer ads than other free streaming platforms. Though, you will have to sign up to use this platform.

Plex

Plex is another platform that offers loads of free streaming content. Like others, this platform will also keep you on a steady diet of ads. Though Plex is often used as a media server to download pirated content, its streaming hub is completely legit.

123 Movies

Almost all platforms featured on this list won’t provide the latest movies but if you want to watch the freshest flicks, hop over to 123 Movies. The user experience might seem a bit glitchy but that’s the price you’ll have to pay to watch new content without the hassle of a monthly subscription or a limited trial. The site has faced multiple copyright issues in the past so you may find several clone sites on the web.

Popcorn Time

Known as “Netflix for pirates”, Popcorn Time is the best free streaming alternative where you can find anything from the latest releases to old classics. The platform is based on BitTorrent technology, so enter at your own risk!
