Watch Free Online ‘The Batman 2022’ Full Movie

The Batman will open in movie theaters on March 4, 2022. The Batman is just months away from grappling with the big screen DC movie all the way back to March 2022.

The Batman was the biggest superhero franchise on the big screen, and even as Warner Bros. has had to start and stop a few times since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy wrapped up, excitement for the caped crusader from Gotham is always high among fans. That is certainly the case for his latest adaptation, The Batman.

A whole new interpretation on the character from Ben Affleck’s Batman that fans got in Batman v Superman and The Justice League, Matt Reeves wrote (along with Peter Craig) and is directing The Batman. There are, however, some rumblings of how Reeve’s version of Batman could interact with Warner Bros.’s attempts to continue to create a DC Universe to rival Marvel.

When is ‘The Batman’ release date?

The Batman was eyeing an October 2021 release date but has since been shifted to a currently planned rollout on March 4, 2022.

In case you were wondering, even though The Batman is a Warner Bros. film and the studio made headlines by giving simultaneous releases of all its 2021 movies in theaters and on its HBO Max streaming service, The Batman will not be getting the same treatment. Warner Bros. has committed to going back to exclusive theatrical windows for its movies starting in 2022.

However, we do know when The Batman will make its way to HBO Max. WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar confirmed in an interview with Vox that The Batman would debut on HBO Max on April 19, 46 days after it is released in theaters.

The Batman” Will Not Be an Origin Story

Director Matt Reeves stated in April 2020 that fans should not expect to see a young, orphaned Bruce Wayne find his calling in “The Batman.” In fact, the film is not an origin story at all.

“The thing I related to in the Batman story is that he isn’t a superhero in the traditional sense,” Reeves explained. “If he has a superpower, it’s the ability to endure…He’s a very alive character, and to tell a version of Batman that wasn’t about how he became

Batman, but the early days of being Batman…to see it in new ways, that was a way to do something that hasn’t been done.”

Reeves’ cinematic influences for “The Batman” include “Chinatown,” “The French Connection,” and “Taxi Driver.” The “War for the Planet of the Apes” director co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin, and “The Batman” features cinematography from Oscar-nominated DP Greig Fraser, who also shot Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming “Dune,” as well as “Lion” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

Reeves pitched “The Batman” as a “very psychological” exploration of the corruption behind Gotham City. “I wanted to do not an origin tale, but a tale that would still acknowledge his origins, in that it formed who he is,” Reeves said to Nerdist in April 2020.

“Like this guy, he’s majorly struggling, and this is how he’s trying to rise above that struggle. But that doesn’t mean that he even fully understands, you know. It’s that whole idea of the shadow self and what’s driving you, and how much of that you can incorporate, and how much of it you’re doing that you’re unaware of.”

The intersection of politics, crime, and crumbling trust in government also felt timely to the director. “I think it always does. There’s almost no time when you can’t do a story about corruption,” Reeves concluded. “But today, it still seems incredibly resonant and maybe, from my perspective, maybe more so than maybe at other times.”

Who directed The Batman?

Matt Reeves follows Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, and immediate predecessor Nolan as the latest multiplex auteur to helm a Batman picture. It’s important to note Reeves has made incredible genre pictures, over and over.

From legitimately scary Cloverfield to shockingly good remake Let Me Into internationally lauded Planet of the Apes movies, he’s made great film after great film. It’s easy to see why Warner Bros. gave him the reins to one of their most prominent properties.

What is The Batman about?

The movie will be helmed by director Matt Reeves, best known for his work on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and its sequel, and will see Batman go up against a serial killer known only as The Riddler.

Speaking about the film’s plot at DC FanDome 2020, Reeves said: “The whole idea is that this is all an experiment in the movie. The idea that we’re in Year two, it’s the Gotham experiment; it’s a criminal, logical experiment, trying to figure out what he can do to finally change this place. And in our story, as he’s in that mode, that’s where you meet him and you see that he’s charting what he’s doing and he doesn’t seem to have any effect on what he wants to happen.”

Reeves also seemed to hint that the film would delve far more into the history of Gotham’s corruption – and how that might connect back to Batman’s origins after all, but in a new and unexpected way.

He continued: “And that is when the murders start to happen, and then the murders begin to describe sort of the history of Gotham in a way that only reinforces what he knows about Gotham, but it opens up a whole new world of corruption that goes much farther.
