Fans of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse think Gwen might be transgender, having spotted a number of supposed clues in the film. Across the Spider-Verse continues the breath-taking action-packed story of Miles Morales, a 15-year-old kid from New York who is still reeling from his adventures in the multi-verse in 2018’s Into The Spider-Verse.

But some fans have not just been enjoying the film, they’ve also been delving into the details – finding what they believe are hints that the character of Gwen is trans, including a ‘Protect trans kids’ flag in her bedroom, and the use of colour in certain scenes.
