‘The Mandalorian’ episode 8: The best fan reactions to the finale

Holy s#!+ b@!!$, Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni!

Disney Plus’ The Mandolorian has premiered its season 2 finale, with the eighth episode being titled “Chapter 16: The Rescue”, and let’s just say that fans of this Star Wars spinoff show have officially lost their minds.

It’s safe to say season 2 of the Favreau & Filoni produced The Mandalorian has lived up to all of the hype, having already gotten Star Wars’ fans’ approval after an impressive season one debut last year.

The Mandalorian has done everything that we’ve asked a Star Wars show to do, which is expand the universe and take us on new adventures into a galaxy far, far away while giving us just a taste of familiar components & characters that we can latch onto.

The Mandalorian: episode 8

So not only did season two of this science-fiction with a hint of western show bring back a familiar foe in the Star Wars lore, Boba Fett, but it also dropped a major bomb during the season’s finale last night, bringing back a, well, let’s just say a familiar Jedi.

That’s right, gang.

When we saw the X-Wing land during “The Rescue”, we knew . . .

When we saw the black robe and the “hand”, we knew . . .

And when we saw the lightsaber glow a glorious green, we knew.

Luke f^@%!&g Skywalker, baby!

Luke Skywalker

Wreaking havoc in a way that we should’ve seen him wreak havoc in 2017’s The Last Jedi, Luke Skywalker’s surprise appearance left fans so shocked that we’re still crying.

The season eight finale was helmed by Ant-Man director, Peyton Reed, who gave us a scene so powerful & memorable that it’s now officially the second-most shocking Peyton Reed directed scene ever, only behind Bring It On’s Torrance (Kristen Dunst) dropping the “spirit stick”.

Barely twenty-four hours removed from The Mandalorian season 2 finale, and there are already thousands of articles & podcasts out there that have properly broken down this incredible episode.

So instead, we want to look at some of the absolute best fan reactions regarding Mando, Baby Yoda, Boba Fett, and, of course, Luke Skywalker.

It’s clear this season finale warranted many different emotions, all deserving in their own right. The Mandalorian season 2 finale was a well-crafted & well-executed ending to a fabulous season, giving fans hope for future Star Wars-related projects as we continue to distance ourselves from some of the galaxy’s bigger duds, such as The Last Jedi & The Rise of Skywalker

Have you seen The Mandalorian season 2 finale yet? Were you shook when you saw Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing land in Moff Gideon’s launch bay, or when Luke Skywalker removed his hood? Let us know in the comments!
