Baby Yoda smiling: See why it’s the cutest Christmas tree topper ever

According to Twitter, Baby Yoda is the new star of Christmas as The Mandalorian character has become the best ornament to replace our Christmas star. Since the Mandalorian has become such a hit, Star Wars fans around the world have shown their love for the series using Baby Yoda as the ultimate Christmas decoration.

Baby Yoda is also known as “the Child” or “Grogu” in Disney Plus’s latest Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian. Debuting in 2019, The Mandalorian follows the adventures of a Mandalorian who protects Grogu, the cutie keeping everyone smiling this holiday season.

Who is Baby Yoda?

Baby Yoda was first introduced to the world as “the Child” at the end of the first episode of The Mandalorian. Fans initially believed Jedi Master Yoda was one of the last surviving Jedis in the Star Wars Universe. However, The Mandalorian started approximately nine years after the Star Wars film The Return of the Jedi, so it’s unlikely that Grogu, the baby in the floating pod, could have been Yoda.

The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau finally revealed the name of the mysterious floating Baby Yoda in season 2, episode 5, “Chapter 13: The Jedi”. According to Esquire, Mando (Pedro Pascal) and Baby Yoda sit down with Jedi Master Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) who communicates with Baby Yoda through the Force.

Ahsoka Tano discovers that the baby alien’s real name is Grogu and expresses that “Grogu was brought up in the Jedi temple on Coruscant” and trained by multiple Jedi masters before getting swept away. Tano shares that Baby Grogu was taken from the Jedi Temple when the Empire rose to power and since then has lost his memory.

Baby Grogu?

The Mandalorian director Dave Filloni told Vanity Fair, “If anyone would know or understand the Child’s history it would be Ahsoka”. Ahsoka Tano has a long history with the Jedi and revealing Baby Yoda’s name was a “nice nod to the history” of Star Wars.

Huffpost reported, “Baby Yoda aka Grogu is fast becoming a favorite Christmas tree topper for 2020.” We have all the ways The Mandalorian fans are celebrating the Christmas season with a smiling Baby Grogu on full display.
