Looking to binge ‘Bridgerton’? Here’s how to score free Netflix

If you’ve also been spending most days indoors, we’re sure you’re also curing your quarantine boredom with bingewatch after bingewatch just like the rest of us. Lately, the newest Netflix show everyone seems to be raving over is Bridgerton, the period drama based on the wealthy Bridgerton family from the UK.

If you haven’t seen Bridgerton yet, we assure you that you’re in for a treat. However, if you’re missing out on all the Bridgerton fun because you don’t own a Netflix account, don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to snag a free account from a subscription service. Read on and soon enough you’ll be swooning over Simon Bassett along with the rest of us.

How to get Netflix

Currently, Netflix offers three separate subscription plans for customers. The first is the Basic option, which runs for $8.99 a month and allows you to stream at a quality of 480p. While that option only allows one device to be streaming at a time, the next tier, the Standard package, allows two different devices to stream at once. That will cost you $13.99 per month and give you a resolution of 1080p.

The priciest payment plan is currently selling for $17.99 a month and includes the option of streaming in 4K+HDR and allows up to four separate devices to be streaming at the same time. However, if you’re itching to watch Bridgerton but don’t want to pay the pricey Netflix fee, we have a few tricks you can try without pulling out your wallet.

One option is the most obvious one, which would be to take advantage of the free trial period. If you need to go over the allotted time frame Netflix allows to make sure you’ve seen all of Bridgerton, you can always enter different emails & accounts. Just always make sure to cancel the subscription before the free trial ends so your credit card doesn’t get charged.

Another way to get Netflix for free so you can enjoy Bridgerton is to ask your friend or family member for their account. Asking around may sound daunting, but some of your loved ones are probably paying for the pricier options to enjoy watching their favorite shows at a higher resolution, so their payment plans may allow multiple devices to be used at the same time. You can even offer to pitch in for a portion of the cost.

One final way to watch Bridgerton for free is to opt out on Netflix and find a free streaming site to binge on your next favorite television show. Websites such as 123movies or Vumoo will give you a similar viewing experience without having to pay a single cent. This method does have drawbacks such as a lower resolution or a lot of pop-up ads, but it will be worth the minor annoyances if you’re trying to save some cash.

What’s Bridgerton about?

If you don’t yet know what this new Netflix show everyone is loving is all about yet, Bridgerton follows the story of British high society during the Regency Era in England during the years 1813 to 1827. The show is based off of the eight-novel series written by Julia Quinn and revolves around the lives of the eight children of the late Viscount Bridgerton.

In the lonely times of quarantine, Bridgerton has gifted its loyal viewers with some romantic & hot escapism to forget all about the real world. Vulture described the show as “a heady, inviting fantasy of pleasure and true love”, and writer Kathryn VanArendonk expressed that “It made me want to whisper obscene gossip, pop Champagne, and run giddily through a hedge maze”.
