Netflix and chill this January

Hot damn! New year, new you? Right. We’ve all got New Year’s Resolutions knocking around already, so how ‘bout you add “binge everything” to that list. A deluge of new and old faves is hitting Netflix in January, and we’d like to share our picks with you. Let’s get right to it:

January 1

While 10,000 BC, the thrilling drama Apollo 13, and the likes of Caddyshack keep you entertained, there’s plenty more to chow down on. The entire olde Batman flicks, from Tim Burton’s Batman to Batman & Robin is hitting the service. So too are Daniel Craig flick Defiance, Capote adaptation Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the entire Lethal Weapon series, and the acclaimed Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.

On the same day you’ve also got a ton of essential flicks for any cinephile. The Godfather and its two successors will be available, along with The Truman Show and Training Day. Bring in the new year with a few binges of some of cinema’s highest achievements.

January 2

Not much here besides Rent and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the eighteen billionth entry in the Pirates franchise. Though nobody’s counting.

January 5

Jerry Seinfeld’s hilarious Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee hits the service, as does Before I Wake.

January 6

All five seasons of Matt LeBlanc’s stellar comedy sitcom in which he plays himself, Episodes, hits the streaming platform. Be prepared for some serious laughs.

January 8

Get spooked! The Conjuring releases.

January 10

The likes of In The Deep, 47 Meters Down, and the unusually titled family film Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie hits. So it’s not all doom & gloom.

January 12

Colony (second season), The Polka King, and Somebody Feed Phil launch.

January 14

Wild Hogs! Is out! On this day! We’ve never seen it. We assume it’s about rogue pigs.

January 15

Unrest joins sports doc 2018 Olympic Winter Games Preview: Meet Team USA & Go for the Gold. Get your hype on for an event that doesn’t start for a little while and involves a lot of snow!

January 16

Watch Matthew McConaughey grab Oscar gold in Dallas Buyers Club. Katt Williams’ stand-up show Great America also launches on this day.

January 18

Bad Day for the Cut, an Irish-Tarantino-style revenge film, hits the streaming service – worth checking out.

January 19

Drug Lords opens its first season, and Grace and Frankie’s fourth season also launches.

January 26

You’ve got Dirty Money and The Adventures of Puss in Boots in its sixth season somehow, all ready for you to stream.

January 31

Cars 3 comes out on this day. Pixar’s Owen Wilson-starring animated cars adventure flick is really not bad at all, especially to keep the munchkins entertained to combat mid-Winter blues.
