Were John McAfee and Jeffrey Epstein friends when young?

Jeffrey Epstein continues to rip up headlines from beyond the grave, and this week interested parties were tossed more Epstein chum amid John McAfee’s recent death. McAfee died under, well, incredibly similar circumstances to Epstein, and conspiracy theorists are having a field day with the details.

Anyone who thought Epstein’s death was a little fishy has been glued to headlines surrounding John McAfee, who was found dead in his Spanish prison cell in late June. Now, people are wondering if Jeffrey Epstein & John McAfee were friends when they were young. So what are the latest articles saying about the famous late men of infamy?

A la Epstein

The Independent reported last week of the recent conspiracy whisperings coming to news publications about John McAfee’s death. Although McAfee’s death was ruled as a suicide by hanging, clues found in the politico’s jail cell seem to point to a nefarious nature coming with his death.

The Independent’s report starts off with a quote from McAfee just nine months before he was found dead in his cell. One of the former U.S. presidential candidate’s last tweets told his followers “Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine”.

Any millennial will tell you what “getting Epsteined” means, but the tweet above would imply even seventy-five year-old McAfee was hip to the conspiracy theories coming with the notorious billionaire’s passing. However, the Catalan justice department in Spain, where McAfee was being held, seems to be unmoved by the massive clues pointing to some fishiness in the mogul’s death.

Everything indicates

Reports say the Catalan Justice Department said “everything indicates” John McAfee took his own life.

McAfee’s actions leading up to his death, however, seem to go against the nature of anyone planning to take their own life; even regardless of his verbal assertion he wouldn’t kill himself, McAfee seemed in good spirits over the past few months.

Reports say a few months after his cryptic Epstein suicide warning, McAfee was doing just fine in jail. When asked how he kept his mood up, the mogul responded saying, “as I always do, by finding the humour and sometimes the beauty that exists in almost all environments”.

In the time leading up to his death, McAfee often spoke about his belief that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered because powerful people wanted his secrets left unsaid, something McAfee feared as well.

$WHACKD

In fact, McAfee was more than outspoken about his fear of being killed in a coverup. In November 2019, the mogul tweeted an image of a tattoo he got bearing the word “$WHACKD”.

The image is captioned, “Getting subtle messages from U.S. officials saying, in effect: “We’re coming for you McAfee! We’re going to kill yourself”. I got a tattoo today just in case. If I suicide myself, I didn’t. I was whackd. Check my right arm.”. All signs seem to indicate McAfee feared being taken down by the U.S. government. But does McAfee’s similarly fishy death mean he & Jeffrey Epstein were friends when they were young?

No details have been released saying Jeffrey Epstein & John McAfee were friends when they were young. However, McAfee had friends behind bars – back in October 2020, he tweeted from jail telling his followers, “I am content in here. I have friends. The food is good. All is well”. This is the tweet which follows with McAfee’s suicide warning, in what appears to be a more detailed reasoning for why McAfee wouldn’t have killed himself.

Jeffrey Epstein & John McAfee may not have been friends when they were young, but they certainly had similar outcomes as elders, and similar circumstances in their deaths. Conspiracy theorists will have to delve through more clues to see if there’s any sense to be made of the strange circumstances leading to John McAfee’s death.
