Fans of 'Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse' will have to look elsewhere for the movie after Christmas. Has Netflix buried another favorite?

Will ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ be on Disney+ after Christmas?

Are you a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse fan? Then you probably already know the story about the Afro-Latino teenager from Brooklyn, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who, like his mentor Peter Parker gets bit by a radioactive spider and takes over the mantle in his universe while meeting the other Spider-Men (Spider-people?) from other dimensions.

The movie is already beloved and has the brag-worthy Academy Award for the 2018 best-animated film to prove it (as it should!).

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is probably the best Spider-Man movie to be created, and not just because it gave us the first non-white Spidey. It’s an inclusive movie for so many other reasons. It also offered a chance to see multiple versions of Spider-Man together with a well-thought-out and well-written reason to combine the worlds.

Sans de sequel

There’s no word about sequels. While many would love more from this universe, nothing has happened yet. And in a way, that’s a good thing. The potential sequels & TV show spinoffs of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse aren’t happening just for the sake of it. But when there is a story to tell, that always creates a better series or movie.

If you somehow missed the movie when it was in theaters or all the time it’s been on Netflix, now is the time to check it out. It’s a movie for the entire family.

No more Netflix

Miles is unapologetically Brooklyn from his untied Air Jordans to his love for Biggie. He is easily unlike any Superhero we’ve ever seen, and we think that’s what makes him so lovable. Unfortunately, if you’ve been watching Into the Spider-Verse on Netflix, you have until Christmas (which sucks) to watch Spider-Verse before it’s taken off the platform.

Right now, we don’t know where it’s going to be available to stream. As Sony still owns the movie, there’s no guarantee that Disney+ will get it like the Marvel movies that exit Netflix. It could head anywhere, although Amazon Prime Video’s list did not include it. It’s available for purchase on Amazon Prime, Vudu, Youtube, & Google Play if you’re interested in buying it yourself.

If you have a Playstation 4, you can also buy it there and then watch it after playing the incredible Spiderman: Miles Morales game, which is a great deal of fun to play with fascinating characters and the infinite echoes of Spiderman in the multiverse. Might be considered the game of the year from where we stand. Here’s a peek at the game action: Go Spidey, uh Miles!

Live-action Miles Morales

There is also a lot of chatter about a live action Miles Morales coming to Disney+ and joining the MCU. However, it’s only rumors and wishful thinking, so far. Though we agree it would be a slammin’ idea!

What do you think about Netflix dropping the movie and where do you think it should be streaming next? Let us know in the comments.
