From lost sex tapes to high-stakes drug deals, Euphoria’s second season is worth all the hype. After waiting a whole two years for the HBO series to make its return, fans can unanimously agree that despite the gap the show has come back better than ever.
Following the lives of multiple teens with their own very unique trials, Euphoria has gained acclaim for its candid and uncensored storytelling along with its stunning cinematography. If you haven’t yet seen season two because you don’t have access to HBO, no worries. We’ll let you in on how you can watch Euphoria, without paying for HBO Max.
Euphoria cast hints at future chaos in season 2
The series’ sophomore season is going to be “devastating”, according to Rue Bennett actress Zendaya. “The show was intense. And it’s very personal to, not only ourselves and all the people who work on it, but also, to other people who have been able to relate so deeply to the characters or see their experiences being reflected through Rue. So we take that very seriously. And it’s definitely challenging, it’s a challenging season.”
She added, “I think this season’s not going to be easy, though. It’s not going to be a fun watch, I don’t think. Sometimes.” Well, if you’ve seen the first few episodes of season 2, then you know that Zendaya wasn’t kidding around. Euphoria has come back with more grit than ever.
Meanwhile, Hunter Schafer & Zendaya discussed how they wished Jules & Rue could simply be happy in love, but writer Sam Levinson ensures that no one stays happy for too long. After Elliot was introduced into the story, it’s clear Jules & Rue will soon be in conflict.
Zendaya told Variety, “There were a lot of conversations over the years about where the show was going to go and what it was going to evolve into, and I remember when Sam first kind of talked about the idea of this Elliot character, I wasn’t feeling it — as someone who ships ‘Rules’ to the bitter end.”
She continued, “And I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are we doing here?’ But, in retrospect, and also as someone who understands where the show needs to go and what needs to happen for these characters, it’s crucial that Elliot exist and that he be the person that is honestly the catalyst for a lot of things that just have to happen.”
