Sonic the Hedgehog

During the journey, the two are constantly on the run from the evil Dr. Robotnik, played hilariously by Jim Carrey. 

Carrey goes full 90s in this movie with a camp portrayal of Robotnik like an evil Ace Ventura. Thankfully, the studio changed the design of Sonic after the initial trailer traumatized the internet. It’s not a perfect movie, but for a Sonic the Hedgehog movie, it’s much better than it ought to be. 

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

If you haven’t watched the Harry Potter movies, it’s the perfect time to do so. The Sorcerer’s Stone is the first in the series and sets up the franchise with whimsy & imagination. It perfectly captures how awestruck any kid would be to find out he or she’s a wizard, traveling to a school to learn magic.

Spiderman: Homecoming

Spiderman: Homecoming introduces Tom Holland as the third iteration of Spiderman. This new Spiderman is now a part of the MCU and has hilarious moments interspersed with great, superhero action. Spiderman: Homecoming possesses the vibe of a coming-of-age comedy from the 80s. Peter Parker has to figure out ways to balance his social life & school life with his responsibilities as Spiderman.
