WHO:             (Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today) -TFT CENTERPIECE- Short Film El Triste

We’re delighted to show the debut feature by TFT alumni Manuel Del Valle.

A drama that takes place on the backstage of a marionette show. El Triste, a poorly crafted marionette, is going through an existential crisis and decides to do all it takes to prove to himself and his fellow puppets that he is valuable and worthy of attention.

Featuring Cain Caries,  a puppet master that has worked with the legendary late Bob Baker at his theater  for 18 years! He shares with us his discovery of puppeteering and how it has influenced him and inspired him to pursue something he never saw himself doing.

Born and raised in Tijuana, Baja California. Arrived to Los Angeles at age 13, I’m 33 now, lives in Westlake/MacArthur Park.
