'Bridgerton', the hit Netflix show, has been Kim Kardashian's latest obsession. Find out how her and her family actually inspired the show here.

Did the Kardashian family inspire these fan-favorite ‘Bridgerton’ characters?

Bridgerton seemed to be everyone’s quarantine savior after the show’s premiere towards the end of 2020, a time where most of us were desperate for some blissful escapism. And what better world to escape into then that of Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton, during the Regency Era in England filled with fancy dresses, lavish dances, and gorgeous & rich people?

The show was such a hit that people have been begging for season two of the show to come out already, and it seems that Kim Kardashian West has now even hopped on board to the Bridgerton bandwagon as well. We mean, who can blame her? However, it also turned out, much to the star’s (and all of our’s) surprise, that a certain family in the show was actually inspired by the Kardashians. Find out who that is here.

All aboard the Bridgerton train!

A few weeks ago, Kim Kardashian West shared to her fans on her Instagram account that she, along with millions of other dedicated fans all over the world, had been binge watching the critically-acclaimed and well-loved Bridgerton series, and she simply could not get enough of it. She may have been a little late to all the hype for the show, but we know she’s a busy gal, so who can blame her?

Very much to the reality star’s surprise though, Nicola Coughlan, the actress who plays Penelope Featherington on the show, actually tagged the star in one of her tweets to reveal to both Kim and the world that there was actually a Bridgerton-Kardashian connection. Yesterday, Nicola Coughlan stated that the Featherington family from the beloved TV show was actually inspired by the entire Kardashian family. Wow!

Coughlan wrote: “As the world’s number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings. Because I feel like she should know this”. Of course, this tweet caused everyone to lose their dang heads, and immediately fans were able to draw the connections. How could we not see it before?

So who is who?

Fans were eager to find out just which Featherington represented each Kardashian sister. However, we should also mention that the first book in the Bridgerton series titled The Duke and I by Julia Quinn was actually published in 2000 while Keeping Up With the Kardashians came out in 2007, so Nicola Coughlan could just have meant her and her co-stars simply just channeled the Kardashian energy to prepare for their roles.

When asked by a fan, Nicola Coughlan confirmed: “The three of us genuinely debate this all the time, I think Prudence and Phillipa are very Kourtney and Khloe cos they’re besties, and Pen is a very successful business woman, also I remember Kim being like a very good detective too so there’s that…”

Kim Kardashian West soon responded to the actress with: “This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!”

Coughlan then replied to her quote tweet with: “Omg yesss of course we would love to have you! Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know!” How exciting!

So for all the fans out there, does this mean we could see Kim Kardashian West and maybe even the rest of the Kardashian family make a cameo in season two of Bridgerton? Well, Netflix has even teased fans by tweeting: “Kim Featherington does have a nice ring to it — I’ll see what I can do!” We have our fingers crossed!
