Matt Damon is an aspiring law student who gets tangled with poker in New York. He loses a lot of money in a game with a local mobster, Teddy “KGB,” but ends up losing. Now a destitute law student trying to pass his exams and make ends meet.
Mike McDermott, Damon’s character, is quickly dragged back into poker though, because of a friend who owes underground poker mobsters $31,000. If Mike fails, his friend will get killed and so he decides to have one more shot. The end is unexpected so we welcome you to take a look at yourself.
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
Look, we will have to agree that Ocean’s Eleven is a fantastic movie starring some excellent actors, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and Andy Garcia. Ocean’s Eleven is a perfect story about a relationship that has gone wrong and now, George Clooney’s character is after his ex’s new boyfriend.
Specifically, Clooney wants to hit three of the casinos owned by the man in what is one of the most ambitious heists. Of course, anyone familiar with the history of Las Vegas would be familiar that there were never actually successful money heists in Las Vegas as the culprits were always captured, bar a few exceptions.
However, in Ocean’s Eleven, Clooney and crew pull it off – or almost. Want to know which one is the case? We urge you to watch Ocean’s Eleven yourself. Oh, and the good news is that there are several more movies after that one. They are definitely worth a watch.
21 is definitely one of the best movies about any gambling game you will find out there. The movie has it all – suspense, great plot, awesome writing, and Kevin Spacey’s impeccable acting. The movie is also following the story of the notorious M.I.T. blackjack team that spent years playing at casinos around the world and mostly Las Vegas, winning millions of dollars in the process.
Now, these guys never cheated, not even by a long shot. But they were very smart, to begin with, and after a while, they figured out a way to count cards at blackjack tables. This is what the movie is about.
Mickey Rosa (Kevin Spacey) has put together an exceptional team of card players who aren’t really card players, to begin with. They are his students who are exceptionally good at math. The plot focuses on Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess)’s story, a young M.I.T. student who is desperately looking for money to do what he truly loves, becomes a doctor.
Yet, the $300,000 he would need for tuition in an Ivy League college is indeed a little too much for him so he is working as anything he can. Then, Rosa comes along and promises him the $300,000 if he is willing to study for a month and accompany his card-counting party for a few months in Las Vegas.
Can you guess what happens next?
