The highly anticipated “Carrie: The Musical” episode of Riverdale arrived and it did not disappoint. With lashings of pigs blood, some supreme dance moves, and a shocking twist waiting in the wings, the episode gave fans everything they were hoping for (and then some). We were living for every second of the episode’s madness and have ranked fourteen of the fiercest, most jaw-dropping moments from it.

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

Cole Sprouse as Jughead in 'Riverdale'

14. This look of contention from Jughead about Kevin’s documentary

Thus reflecting the possible feelings Cole Sprouse (Big Daddy) has on the musical episode – he was the only main cast member who didn’t sing.

Casey Cott as Kevin Keller in 'Riverdale'

13. This shady takedown of teen drama casting

As we all know, many teen dramas over the years have cast actors far older than their characters are. Riverdale went there and it was quite the zinger.

Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge in 'Riverdale'

12. This tight allusion to Veronica being a mafioso daughter

We’re not entirely sure where the Lodge family mob plotline is heading but we’re certain it’s somewhere dark.

Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom in 'Riverdale'

11. This reference to the pig’s blood

When you’ve covered yourself in “pig’s blood” like the Carrie of the movie just to scare your own mom out the house, it’d be a waste not to share such a reference while trying to chase her out.

Mädchen Amick in 'Riverdale'

10. Alice Cooper as Margaret White

Mädchen Amick (Twin Peaks) is always a delight in Riverdale but she really stepped up in this episode. That faux perm? Incredible. Her singing? Impeccable. Her scream that closed out the episode? Absolute perfection.

Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper in 'Riverdale'

9. This first Betty vs. Veronica takedown

Betty was not holding back this episode! Take her down, B!

8. This second Betty vs. Veronica takedown

Ouch! That’ll do it. K.O.

Cheryl Blossom

6. This legendary line

Cheryl had a myriad of lines in this episode destined to become the thing of TV legend. “Thespian terrorism” is a phrase of camp, unadulterated genius.

KJ Apa as Archie Andrews in 'Riverdale'

5. Archie doing topless push-ups while reading

Its peak Riverdale, folks! But lawd help us, also the hottest thing ever. Keep doing you, Archiekins.

4. This stunning throwback to Brian De Palma’s 1976 movie

We honestly wish we could’ve seen more of the whole Carrie prom sequence in the episode, but we’re happy to just take this and run with it.

KJ Apa's dance moves

3. Archie’s incredible dance moves

Casey Cott teased that Apa’s moves would be something special ahead of the episode, and oh boy was he right. “(His dancing) really is something I never thought I needed until I saw it.”

The CW's 'Riverdale'

2. This badass, terrifying threat

Seriously, just look at Cheryl right here. She’s delivering some serious De Palma Carrie White realness but she’s also bringing shades of Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak and Eva Green in Penny Dreadful.

killer “Carrie: The Musical” moments in ‘Riverdale’

1. That unexpected murder

Oh Midge (Emilija Baranac), we hardly knew ye! Riverdale’s gory twist brought The Black Hood back into our lives in the most unexpected and gruesome of ways – by killing a very minor character who’s so underdeveloped, fans will barely miss her. Still a great reveal, regardless.
