A homage to Arnold Schwarzenegger: The real-life Terminator

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born in Austria in 1947 and lead a fairly normal childhood. He is known worldwide for his many accomplishments, which include becoming a world champion bodybuilder, a Hollywood star, an author and a politician. During his early teenage years he watched action movies with his father and saw the film Hercules, which is how his ambition to become a star formed. At the age of 15 it became his quest to become the greatest bodybuilder ever and then later to become the biggest movie star of all time.

Schwarzenegger built a bodybuilding career that was unrivalled for many years and is still viewed by many as the best, winning seven Mr Olympia titles. Schwarzenegger, it appeared, felt the need after all his success to give back to America. So he did this by becoming the Governor of California and had a successful political career up until 2011.

In 1984 he instilled himself in cinematic history as the main character in Terminator, the sci-fi film franchise that has grossed over $3bn. The 70 year old has just recently had emergency open heart surgery after complications during a procedure to have a catheter valve replaced. Allegedly his first words were “I’m Back”, in a reference to his character within the Terminator. It appears nothing can stop the legend whose overall filmography has so far grossed about $4.5bn.

His role in Terminator was his biggest role ever and really transformed him into Hollywood’s biggest star and helped him onto other high profile roles in movies such as Predator, True Lies and the rest of the Terminator franchise. Solely for his work on Terminator 3 he received payments of around $30 million!

The sixth instalment of the Terminator is set to be released in 2019 and will see Schwarzenegger reunited with his co star from Terminator 2, Linda Hamilton. James Cameron, the creator has stated that the film will be a continuation of the story from Terminator 1 and Terminator 2, which has excited fans and really heightened the excitement of the new release.

The Terminator franchise is one that will never be forgotten and just keeps moving forwards with the times. However the last few attempts to carry it, have been seen by some to fall a little flat. This is probably the driving force behind the sixth attempt going back to its roots with the storyline from 1 and 2.

The franchise that tells the story of Schwarzenegger’s character who plays a relentless cyborg who was on a single minded mission to assassinate Sarah Connor. Terminator 2: Judgement however is probably the most popular instalment of the franchise, likely due to it’s amazing special effects, which have been a massive inspiration and even resulted in video and slot games based upon it. The Terminator 2 slot machine is actually very popular and continues to successful. The game offers 243 ways to win and similarly to the film has fantastic visual effects; which is why near enough all reputable online casino brands, Unibet for example, are proud to have it as part of their gaming suite.

We are hoping that Schwarzenegger has a full recovery, so that he can continue to inspire and give the world even more great movies.
