‘Framing Britney Spears’: The saddest parts of the doc on the young singer

The New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears has revealed the most shocking moments of young Britney Spears.

Framing Britney Spears is available to stream on Hulu and upacks the struggles of Britney Spears’s life of fame & fortune. According to TVLine, the documentary also provides many controversial moments surrounding her conservatorship with her father Jamie Spears and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

We’re looking into some of the saddest moments.

Justin Timberlake

In Framing Britney Spears Justin Timberlake released his hit “Cry Me A River” and reportedly weaponized his song against his broken relationship Britney Spears. According to TVLine, Timberlake’s music video “Cry Me A River” revealed that Spears cheated and was the cause for their relationship ending.

Britney Spears’s ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake spoke to the press and stated he slept with Spears. This took the world by storm as the young super star claimed she was waiting for marriage.

On the Star and Buc Wild Morning Show Justin Timberlake was asked: “Did you f*** Britney Spears?” Timberlake confessed: “Oh man. . . OK, I did it!”

Another misogynist moment was presented when Justin Timberlake was featured on the cover of Details magazine with the headline: “Can we ever forgive Justin Timberlake for all that sissy music? Hey. . . at least he got into Britney’s pants!”

In 2003 Diane Sawyer interviewed Britney Spears about her relationship with Justin Timberlake. Spears sadly expressed: “It was pretty rough. . . yeah. . . oh my goodness, hello! Eww. . . strong Britney, yeah it was a weird time.”

Parenting blow

Diane Sawyer’s 2003 interview was extremely brutal when she shamed Britney Spears on her very “sexualized” image. Diane Sawyer stated: “Britney Spears has upset a lot of mothers in this country, starting with the wife of the governor of Maryland.”

A mother stated: “Really, if I had an opportunity to shoot Britney Spears, I think I would.” Diane Sawyer added: “Because of the example for kids and how hard it is to be a parent.” Britney Spears replied: “Oh that’s horrible! That’s really bad”.

NBC’s former news anchor Matt Lauer also interviewed Britney Spears and commented about her questionable parenting choices. The young super star – who was pregnant with her second child – was hit with scrutinizing remarks about her parenting skills which only ended with a “sigh” followed by tears.

Paparazzi overload

In Framing Britney Spears, the documentary provides many images of paparazzi following young Britney Spears into restaurants & car parks. The paparazzi were shown ignoring Spears when she cried: “I’m scared, I’m scared”.

In a 2006 interview, Matt Lauer asked Britney Spears: “What do you think it will take to make the paparazzi leave you alone?” Spears replied: “I don’t know. . . I don’t know.”

The news anchor Matt Lauer continued: “Is that one of your biggest wishes?” Britney Spears responded: “Yeah”. A year after the interview with Matt Lauer, Britney Spears smashed a paparazzi’s car in frustration.

Conservatorship

Framing Britney Spears has shown many sad moments about Britney Spears’s past, but the saddest moment of them all is the singer’s conservatorship situation with her father Jamie Spears.

According to TVLine, Jamie Spears claimed that the #FreeBritney movement “is a joke”, but many fans have hope that Britney Spears will be free from her father’s control. In fact, Hulu’s documentary describes how controlling Britney Spears’s father really was to the young singer.

Britney Spears explained: “If that (conservatorship) wasn’t there, I’d feel so liberated and like myself.” Spears tearfully continued: “When I tell (my team) the way I feel, it’s like they hear me, but they’re not really listening. It’s bad.”

One of Britney Spears’s former directors Kim Kaiman stated: “The only thing Jamie (Spears) ever said to me was, ‘My daughter’s going to be so rich, she’s going to buy me a boat.’ That’s all I’m going to say about Jamie.”
