Wanted Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed: Iraqi diplomat fled Mexico for soliciting sex from a child

Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed, former Iraqi diplomat in charge of business affairs of the Embassy of Iraq in Mexico left Mexico City to avoid prosecution on charges of soliciting sex from a 13-year-old boy in 2014.

All of this came to light, following the filing of the police report by victim’s mother. Mexico’s undercover law enforcement officers revealed that a deputy trained in detecting predators pretended to be a minor on the internet to lure Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed. During the year 2013, the diplomat Ali Hasan Muhammed Muhammed engaged in online conversations with undercover detective 40-year-old Alvaro Gonzalez Prieto.

When the authorities approached him near a shopping center, where he had scheduled to meet with the child he believed was in seventh grade. Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed attempted to escape in his SUV with diplomatic license plates.

A computer printout with directions to the meeting location was discovered inside his vehicle, and Mexico City officials confirmed his identity after contacting the Embassy of Iraq in Mexico. He was then released from police custody.

The case seemed to have reached a dead end when officials from the State Department notified Mexico’s law enforcement authorities that the diplomat had been fired from his position as director of business affairs of the Iraqi embassy in Mexico.

Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed then fled Mexico back to Iraq, the Mexican State Department confirmed. Calls to the embassy were not returned.

He will not be allowed to work in diplomatic relations agains or enter Mexico again unless it is to face charges in Mexico City. He is charged in warrants with five counts of solicitation of a minor and one count of attempted indecent liberties. If extradited he would face up to 10 years in prison on each solicitation charge and a maximum of five on the indecent-liberties charge.

The case of Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed is a shocking example of the dangers that lurk online and how law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to protect children from online predators. The fact that a high-ranking diplomat was involved in such a heinous crime is particularly disturbing and underscores the need for better vetting of individuals in sensitive positions.

The case also highlights the importance of international cooperation in tracking down criminals who cross borders to avoid prosecution. Without the cooperation of the Mexican government, Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed case may have never been known.

In conclusion, the case of Ali Hassan Muhammed Muhammed is a stark reminder of the dangers that exist online and the need for greater vigilance and cooperation to protect our children from harm. While justice may have not been served in this particular case, we must remain vigilant and take steps to prevent similar crimes from happening in the future.
