‘Selling Sunset’ season 4: Will The Oppenheim Group stick together?

The Netflix reality show Selling Sunset has exploded in popularity over the summer after releasing its third season. Now, all that anyone can think about is black wedding dresses, views of the Hollywood Hills, and how much these women are spending on lip injections.

However, despite the rise in popularity for Selling Sunset, there hasn’t yet been a confirmation from the streaming giant there’s going to be a fourth season. The stars of the show have dropped hints here and there about whether it will happen and what the season might look like, but it sounds like season four would be vastly different.

Here are all the hints we’ve heard about the potential future of Selling Sunset.

Season four is likely

Both Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim have said they see no reason a fourth season wouldn’t go forward, even despite the current pandemic. Jason said “I don’t foresee any restrictions on filming because I think that we’re all together anyway”.

Other members of the cast have mentioned that a fourth season would provide a lot of very interesting stories to tell, and that fans would really enjoy it.

Two brokerages?

Rumors have been circulating that the twin brothers Brett and Jason Oppenheim, who originally founded The Oppenheim Group – the brokerage Selling Sunset is centered around, had parted ways professionally, with one brother staying at The Oppenheim Group and one starting a competitive brokerage Oppenheim Real Estate.

Jason has denied that saying “I think Christine [Quinn] tried to fan those flames. He’s not starting his own brokerage and hiring agents and competing; we’re still working together”.

However, fans have found a website for Oppenheim Real Estate and noticed some of its listings overlap with that of the Oppenheim Group. So, either Jason is keeping it quiet so that season four can be that much more explosive when fans watch it – or it’s just a new branch of the company. Either way it’s exciting times for the company; whether positive or negative is yet to be seen.

People leaving

Selling Sunset is no stranger to adding new real estate agents to the cast. Chrishell Stause was the newbie at The Oppenheim Group in season one, and season two added Amanza Smith Brown. However, we haven’t seen anyone part ways just yet.

A few of the girls have admitted they would consider leaving the brokerage under the right circumstances . . . especially if it was for an all women brokerage. Sometimes the women in Selling Sunset take issue with the way Brett and Jason run things and treat people.

Maya Vander has also been traveling back and forth from Miami to Los Angeles for the show and her work, but with her husband and two kids in Florida she’s mentioned that she isn’t sure how much longer she can keep flying across the country.

Stause has also publicly stated, “There is some splintering happening in the group . . . I’m not going to sugar coat it. We’re not all friends, we don’t all get along. But we try to. Some people have left, the brokerage has split, if the cameras picked up now, there’s a lot to pick up on”.

Show’s future

Even if Netflix greenlit another season of Selling Sunset it doesn’t look like the cameras could rush right back into The Oppenheim Group’s office immediately anyway. Stause is currently doing a stint on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and she is arguably the fan favorite.

Plus, despite Jason’s unconcerned attitude toward filming in the pandemic, we’re fairly certain Netflix will want to put in a few precautions for their camera crew, just in case.

While we’d love to see how the drama of losing (and possibly replacing) people unfold, if too many of the original cast members are leaving the brokerage we may not see a fourth season. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what Netflix announces & follow our faves on Instagram to see what details we can pick up ourselves.
