Resident Evil 8 and many more games are being released soon. Here are our favorite PS5 games already announced to be coming to the console.

Resident Evil 8: All the Playstation 5 games you’ll need to play

Resident Evil 8

In the past, the Resident Evil series has focused on glossy third-person horror adventure games. Now, they’re shifting gears into a first-person style game, departing away from its roots. The trailer reveals Resident Evil is returning to a creepy European setting. Resident Evil 8 is coming to the PS5 this holiday season.

Spiderman: Miles Morales

Unfortunately, Spiderman: Miles Morales won’t be a full-blown sequel to the acclaimed 2018 game, Spiderman PS4, like we initially thought. Rather, this entry into the Spiderman gaming franchise is taking us back to the first game in an expanded remaster.

With far superior hardware and more time to spend with this games titular character, there is still a lot to look forward to for when it drops this holiday season.

Godfall

When Godfall was revealed during last December’s Video Game Awards, we all assumed it would be a hack-n-slash adventure similar to Destiny or Borderlands, but with swords. And unlike with Spiderman: Miles Morales, we were actually right in our assumptions.

When the gameplay trailer was shown during Sony’s PS5 event, we saw players slicing & bashing huge monsters in ornate sets of armor. Gameplay like this is a staple of hack-n-slash games. After all, if you’re gonna mindlessly mowing down monsters, you might as well look good while doing it.

Gran Turismo 7

In classic Playstation game launch fashion (wow, that was a mouthful), a new Gran Turismo game was displayed. Seeing as the last 6 installations in this game series was the exact same game, there’s not too much to say. If you’re a fan of the series, this game might be worth checking out. Unfortunately, though, no release date was announced for this admittedly beautiful, but bland racing game.

Horizon Forbidden West

In yet another truly stunning showcase of exactly what the PS5’s hardware can do, Aloy returns to take on robotic dinosaurs. Horizon Forbidden West is a fully-fledged sequel to the 2017 Horizon Zero Dawn. As far as gameplay goes, it looks similar to its predecessor. Graphics, on the other hand, are remarkable. No release date was revealed for Horizon Forbidden West. But keep a watch out; we’re getting information left and right about all PS5 titles.

Grand Theft Auto 5 enhanced

After initially releasing this worldwide bestseller on PS3, Rockstar Games enhanced the graphics and ported it over to the PS4. Once again, Rockstar isn’t willing to stop making money from this masterpiece of an open-world game. So, they upgraded the graphics and ported it over to the PS5. This enhanced PS5 version of the game will release in 2021.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Ratchet and Clank: Rift apart is a truly remarkable display of the PS5’s next-gen hardware. In the trailer for this colorful platform-shooter, the pair of heroes, Ratchet and Clank, are seen seamlessly hopping from one detailed sci-fi world to the next. Although the art style is cartoony, the graphics were still breathtaking.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a sequel to the PS4 game Ratchet and Clank.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Rather than revealing LittleBigPlanet 4 like we expected, Sony showed off Sackboy: A Big Adventure, a spinoff to the LittleBigPlanet series, featuring everyone’s favorite burlap hero, Sackboy.

Rather than the typical 2.5D gameplay you’d expect from an installment in the LittleBigPlanet series, Sackboy: A Big Adventure goes full 3D platformer, straying away from its roots.

Hitman 3

Hitman 3 will be launching on the PS5 in January 2021. This third installment in the rebooted Hitman series will wrap up the World of Assassination storyline.

The reveal trailer for Hitman 3 showed some gameplay of a stunning Dubai level. Watching everyone’s favorite agent infiltrate the world’s tallest skyscraper while donning multiple disguises was a sight to behold. We can’t wait for our 2021 to kick off the right way.

Astros Playroom

Similar to the Astros Playroom VR for the PS4, this free tech demo will come preloaded with your brand new PS5. According to Sony, this game is only meant to show off the capabilities of the new Dualshock 5 controller and won’t cost you a dime.

Those were our favorite PS5 games already announced to be coming to the console. Did we miss any of your favorites? Let us know down below. And don’t forget, despite COVID related delays, the PS5 is still set to launch this holiday season.
