Wondering when does 'Morbius' come out? Find out when you can watch Jared Leto as the Marvel vampire anti-hero and all the rest of the details here.

When does ‘Morbius’ come out? Here’s how to watch it free

Hype around Marvel is at a peak thanks to the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home at the box-office. What’s more, it seems as though the momentum for the MCU will continue into the new year. This is due in part to the fact that a new international TV spot for Morbius just dropped, with fans already thirsty for more content.

Sony Pictures’ latest superhero film stars Jared Leto as the titular “Living Vampire.” Leto isn’t new to the comic book cinema world, as he portrayed the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad. Leto’s experience of playing unhinged characters makes him perfect for Morbius, as there are both pros & cons to the antihero’s superhuman powers.

In the new trailer, we see the Living Vampire attempting to handle the bloodthirstiness that comes with his abilities. Leto looks almost unrecognizable in the thick vampire makeup & prosthetics, with large jagged fangs to boot. Seeing the new teaser may make you wonder, “when does Morbius come out?” Keep reading to find out.

Morbius’ origins

Morbius first appeared in Marvel comics back in 1971, created by writer Roy Thomas & artist Gil Kane. He was introduced in October of that year in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 as an enemy of Spidey. In addition to being an adversary of Peter Parker, Morbius is also a villain in the Blade series.

Even though Morbius started out as a bad guy, he eventually shifted over to the side of antihero, receiving his own series. Morbius acts as a brooding & gritty vigilante who occasionally returns to his evil ways. It will be interesting to see how Jared Leto adapts this character from the page to the screen in the feature film Morbius.

But when does Morbius come out? Who else is in the cast? Where can you watch it for free? We’ll tell you.

Morbius gets a movie

The synopsis for Morbius reads, “One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius.” The description continues, “Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others from the same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble.”

The film teases, “While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?” Along with Leto, the cast for Morbius includes Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame, who recently starred in Last Night in Soho

Morbius also features Adria Arjona from Good Omens, Jared Harris of The Crown, and Tyrese Gibson of Fast and the Furious stardom. Most notably, Michael Keaton will make an appearance in Morbius. Keaton is considered comic book film royalty, as he starred in Tim Burton’s Batman films, which took the genre to new heights.
