Montreal Independent Film Festival: Everything you want to know

The Montreal Independent Film Festival (MIFF) is both an annual and monthly fair. The festival is a qualifier festival for IMDb dedicated not only to Canadian short films and feature films, but also to international movies. MIFF celebrates films of all genres.

The monthly festival is an online event – all of the winners in the monthly festivals are then invited to the large annual event with a red carpet ceremony and media coverage at the Cinema du Parc.

MIFF isn’t just about awards, however. While trophies are nice, they also provide a chance for independent films to be screened and compete, but the festival supports creators with services for all filmmakers including screening, marketing, distribution, and publicity.

The Montreal Independent Film Festival’s goal is to recognize talented artists working in film including actors, writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, edits, composers, and everyone else.

The festival is a truly great international platform for all filmmakers to be recognized for their talents and promote their projects. MIFF has led to breakthroughs and further recognition in the film industry for many of its official selections and award winners.

MIFF has turned into a very important festival and organization committed to independent cinema, filmmakers, artists, and the arts.

The jury consists of professionals in media from throughout the world which changes monthly to feature different artists, filmmakers, critics, distributors, and media representatives who watch and vote on the various films.

Arsalan Baraheni is an independent filmmaker and producer who has created an exciting program for the festival and includes fascinating stars such as William Baldwin as Best Lead Actor, in Talk by Boulanger Romulad and Columbus by Freddie Paull who received four awards for Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Script, and Best Science Fiction.
