‘The Masked Singer’: Revisit who’s been revealed so far this season

Season 5 of Fox’s The Masked Singer has been anything but uneventful, as fans everywhere are still shocked at the major names this popular celebrity singing competition show manages to bring in. The Masked Singer is the perfect escape given the current global pandemic, as the show manages to entertain from the moment a mystery singer performs to its hilarious guesses by the show’s judges.

While there are still plenty of talented celebrities left on The Masker Singer, we want to give you a rundown on who has been eliminated & revealed up to this point, giving you the perfect chance to catch up before hopping on The Masked Singer bandwagon like the rest of us!

The Snail

Week 1 of this hit singing competition had a large list of mystery celebrities hidden behind some rather impressive costumes, which certainly warrants a future Emmy contention. However, while most celebrities were a bit difficult to pinpoint, there was one voice that had some familiarity to it, and it belonged to the Snail, who was wheeled onto the stage like a little red wagon.

The Snail performed “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates, and offered a clue package that referenced a teddy bear, Swedish meatballs, and a treasure chest.

Ultimately, the Snail was revealed to be none other than Kermit the Frog of the Muppets! Really, Kermit? A week one elimination? We suppose that perhaps it’s really not that easy being green!

The Phoenix

Unlike a traditional Phoenix, this masked celebrity failed to rise from the ashes after their somewhat cringy performance, singing Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK” during the week 2 show. While we’ll always give the nod to any celebrity who’s brave enough to come on The Masked Singer, it’s clear that perhaps this show isn’t for everybody.

The clue package for the Phoenix included hints at the LGBTQ+ community, as well as being known for spilling the “tea”. Finally, it was revealed that the celebrity behind this mask was Caitlyn Jenner, the former olympian and supposedly future politician. Even we have to admit how big of a surprise this reveal was.

The Raccoon

This was one of the more hilarious performances we’ve ever seen in Masked Singer history, as the raccoon, who appropriately had a severely scratchy voice belted out “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash, while hinting in his clue package how he’s had some time in jail, as well as have been in a slew of Western movies in the past.

The Raccoon was later revealed to be Machete actor Danny Trejo, fooling the judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thick, and Nicole Scherzinger in the process.

Grandpa Monster

There seems to be a d@&% monster on every season of The Masked Singer, this time being in the form of an old man . . . maybe?

Grandpa Monster belted out a slew of songs, including “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett as well as “Mambo No. 5” by Lou Bega before finally meeting his end on his season 5 run, revealing himself in the week 4 episode of the show to be none other than YouTube star Logan Paul, possibly appearing as a promotional tactic for his upcoming boxing match against Floyd “Money” Mayweather, hence all the boxing clues.

The Bulldog

Season 5 of The Masked Singer threw an odd curveball this season when they revealed the Bulldog in week 5 of the show to be none other than the host himself, Nick Cannon. Of course, we all knew that the show would do something fun when they were officially allowed to bring back Cannon onto the show, having sat the previous four weeks due to his COVID-19 recovery while guest-host Niecy Nash took his place.

Cannon sang “Candy Girl” by New Edition, almost sounding like a teenage boy who just got kicked in the private parts. We have to admit, this reveal got us, as we suspected that Cannon might’ve been Cluedle Doo, a backstage rooster who has been sabotaging clues all of season 5.

The Orca

Every season of The Masked Singer there’s that one mystery star that tugs on our heartstrings, and for season 5 of the show it was the Orca who did just that, revealing in their clue package the emotions behind having a child as well as losing their father.

The Orca belted out, rather well actually, “Every Rose Has it’s Thorn” by Poison, surprisingly falling into the bottom two before being eliminated during week 6 of the show. Even with a clue package that hinted at their band Sugar Ray, the judges were still shocked when it was revealed that the Orca was singer & TV host Mark McGrath.

Crab & Seashell

Week 7 took the show deep under the sea for a double elimination, and we were all here for it!

First, The Masked Singer sadly eliminated the Crab, who had a smooth & soulful voice with some powerhouse moments, specifically when they busted out Phil Collins’s “In The Air Tonight”. It brought the house down, which made it all the more crazy when they were eliminated, eventually revealed to be Bobby Brown, former New Edition member who’s had a lot of tragedy in his life.

The second elimination saw the show wave goodbye to the Seashell, who beautifully sang “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany while offering a clue package that highlighted the star’s previous roles, including their work on Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark? After an array of wrong guesses by the judges, the Seashell was revealed to be Sister Sister star Tamera Mowry, the twin of Tia Mowry. Wow!
