Lil Nas X is truly one of the biggest pop stars of today’s generation, and while the rapper’s career is only just beginning, he’s already managed to be incredibly successful as well as influential from topping the music charts all the way to making LGBTQ+ history as the gay icon he is. Through the music, fame, and his trending memes, could the musician also have found love as well? Let’s take a look at the star’s dating life.
Finding love?
From winning Grammy awards, releasing hit single after hit single, stirring up controversy from haters through his fierce and proud music videos and performances, it may seem like Lil Nas X is a figure who might be too busy making great music and paving the way for the gay community for a personal life. However, you may need to think again as the hip-hop star recently revealed that he has found some luck in love.
In a recent interview he did for a cover story in Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood issue that was released on Wednesday, the rapper did indeed reveal to the world that he’s found a certain special someone recently ever since he made it big in these past years and found fame, and according to him, things between the lovely duo have been getting quite serious. So who is this lucky person and special lover in Lil Nas X’s life?
Well, unfortunately for his fans, the rapper did not actually reveal the true identity of his special person, and Lil Nas X only mentioned to Variety that it was “somebody special”. Of course, we guess we can’t really blame him for trying to keep things hush hush. After all, Lil Nas X has made his name as one of the biggest pop stars of today, so we’re sure he wants to keep the people in his life as safe as possible. We’re just glad he is happy!
Discussing his love life
In the interview he did with Variety, Lil Nas X did in fact go further in depth on who he really is, the plans he has for himself, as well as reflected on other situations in love such as being gay, coming out, and past lovers. He even admitted that before his smash single “Old Town Road” topped the music charts, he wasn’t really that big of a playboy. He admitted to Variety that “I didn’t really have a sexual life besides one person or two”.
“It’s definitely made things a lot more interesting, to say the least”, he said reflecting back on all that has happened since his career skyrocketed. The star even admitted that he hasn’t had the best experiences with love in the past, and stated that “I’ve had some good boyfriends, some bad ones. A lot of them emotionally unavailable and whatnot”. Lucky for him though, ever since he met a certain someone, it’s been looking up for him.
Lil Nas X reflected that with his past boyfriends, there was “A lot of insecurity between them”. However, with this new beau, he truly believes it’s going good as he told Variety: “But yeah, I found somebody special now. Yeah. I think this is the one. I can’t explain it. It’s a feeling”. Aww! We love that for him. We’re absolutely excited that he really sees a future with this new lover, whoever this lucky guy may be.
Looking back
Ever since last year, Lil Nas X had already mentioned that he was “dating someone” to CR Men, but never mentioned it was an actual relationship. However, we’re happy for him that things have clearly progressed between the two of them since then. The twenty-two-year-old pop star first came out as a gay icon all the way back in June 0f 2019, and Lil Nas X is one of the biggest names in music today.
The star expressed: “I wanted to be even more authentic in my music and let people into my life. I’m much more confident now — in my music, myself, my sexuality, the things that I believe that I stand for.”
