What are the very best Netflix Halloween movies this season?

Halloween is more than a day, it’s a season. On one hand, you could go trick-or-treating but stay home this year! Stay in your warm pajamas, maybe by the fireplace inside your sanctuary because there’s no place like home. There’s nothing like enjoying the thrills, chills and scares of the season and setting up a Netflix movie night is by far one of if not the best way to do so!

You can stick to the classics like Child’s Play and a Nightmare on Elm Street. But there are some intense gore and guts favored by Netflix Halloween movies. For those of us who feel like being frightened but would rather avoid seeing blood and gore, we can choose from psychological movies. There’s even horror comedies for the very late evenings because who feels like having bad dreams?

Netflix Halloween movies come with everyone in mind and we’ve gathered some of the very best. They’re waiting for us this weekend!

Winchester (2018)

Perhaps, at some point in your life, you’ve pondered on the most haunted house in the world. (Oh, the stories that must have happened there!) The most haunted house in the world lives on an isolated stretch of land that’s fifty miles outside of San Francisco.

Sarah Winchester, heiress to the Winchester fortune, built it which stands seven stories tall and houses hundreds of rooms. To an outsider, the place looks like a monstrous monument to a disturbed woman’s madness. But Sarah’s really building a prison serving as an asylum for numerous vengeful ghosts, but the most frightening of them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

Nightbooks (2021)

Any list presenting the best Halloween movies on Netflix has to reveal a children’s horror story. Children enjoy watching a movie while eating their candy after trick-or-treating. Add Nightbooks to their watchlist.

They’ll see the story of a boy who has a talent for writing horror stories but he’s trapped inside the apartment of a witch. She demands for the boy to read her a spooky tale every night or she’ll kill him.

Hubie Halloween (2020)

Of all the Halloween movies on Netflix Hubie Halloween is definitely the horror comedy we could all use right now. In the story, it’s October 31 in Salem, Massachusetts. There’s the town’s peculiar, devoted community volunteer and the “good-natured object of his fellow citizen’s derision and meanest pranks,” he finds himself amid a real investigation, for a real murderer.

(Just a little something for all the Adam Sandler fans lingering out there!)

Ghost (1990)

Can there really be Halloween without ghosts? Ghosts are the Christmas trees of the season and we know Netflix has us covered through the movies and shows. You’ll meet Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze) played a banker. Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) is an artist. And the two are greatly in love.

But Sam gets murdered by his friend and corrupt business partner Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn) over a shady business deal. After his ordeal, Sam was left to wander the Earth as a lost and powerless spirit. When he got wind of Carl’s betrayal, Sam had to seek the help of psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg) to make things right and protect Molly from Carl and his goons.

ParaNorman (2012)

On ParaNorman, you’ll meet Norman Babcock (Kodi Smit-McPhee) has the ability to speak to the dead, and favors their company over the living. But the boy finds out that his strange Uncle Prenderghast (John Goodman) and centuries-old witch curse on their town is all too real and about to come to fruition.
