Years after its cancellation, 'Friends' lives on with these memorable quotes. Find out how the cast is immortalizing their lines from this classic TV show.

‘Friends’: Celebrate this clothing line with the TV show’s most iconic quotes

The main cast of Friends (Jennifer Anniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer) have teamed up to promote a charitable clothing line based on the hit series.

The clothing brand Represent is releasing a limited edition line of shirts, sweatshirts, and hats with quotes from the series. Yesterday, members of the cast posted photos of themselves wearing the clothes on Instagram.

Jennifer Anniston posted a photo of herself sporting a sweatshirt with a graphic of Courtney Cox’s Monica saying “I know!”, and a hat that read one of Rachel’s lines: “We were so NOT on a break!”.

Half of the proceeds of the sales will go to charities of the stars’ choice. Anniston’s charity of choice helps people affected by COVID-19. Schwimmer’s chosen charity helps support victims of sexual violence.

This release comes not long after the cast reunited for a Friends reunion special on HBO Max. The clothes feature iconic quotes, so we thought we’d round up some of our favorites as well.

“I wish I could, but I don’t want to.”

One of Pheobe’s earliest lines on the show demonstrates something about the character, how she is essentially kindhearted, but incredibly rude. This line is very hashtag relatable, and we know you wish you had the guts to say this to people more often.

“Could I be wearing any more clothes?”

A great episode is “The One Where No One is Ready”. The gang is heading to an event for Ross’s work, but nobody can get ready on time. Chandler & Joey get caught up in a fight over a chair, which escalates to Joey putting on every article of clothing Chander owns.

“They don’t know that we know they know we know.”

One of the best episodes of the series is “The One Where Everyone Finds Out”. After keeping their relationship under wraps since they first hooked up at Ross’s wedding, Monica & Chandler’s secret is known by Joey, and then Rachel & Phoebe find out. They spend the whole episode messing with each other, trying to get the other to confess what they know.

“What’s not to like? Custard: good. Jam: good. Meat: good.”

When Monica finally lets Rachel help out in the kitchen on Thanksgiving, of course things go horribly wrong. Rachel attempts to make a “Trifle” for dessert, but the pages of her cookbook are stuck together and she unwittingly makes a strange meat-custard… thing. Everyone is disgusted, but afraid of hurting Rachel’s feelings. Only Joey genuinely enjoys the dish, and this is what he says.

“Nestlé Toulouse.”

Monica tries to help Phoebe find her grandmother’s cookie recipe. Turns out Phoebe has been duped by her grandmother, who tried to pass off Nestle Tollhouse as one of her own recipes.

“If he doesn’t like you this is all a moo point. Yeah, it’s like a cow’s opinion. It’s moo.”

Why does this misinterpretation of the saying make as much sense as the correct interpretation?

“Oh, come on Will. Just take off your shirt and tell us.”

When Brad Pitt shows up, we just knew Phoebe would be the one to get right to the point. Thank you, Phoebe.

“Until I was 25, I thought the response to ‘I love you’ was ‘Oh, crap.’”

Chandler has the emotional maturity of your first boyfriend. Less, actually, but it’s pretty funny.

“You don’t own a TV? What’s all your furniture pointed at?”

Seriously, we need an answer to this question from people who don’t own televisions.

“You can’t just give up, is that what a dinosaur would do?”

When Rachel is headed to Paris for an incredible opportunity, Ross feels he should hold her back one last time. His friends encourage this, and this is Joey’s words he uses to inspire Ross not to give up. Even after all these years (this is the series finale) Joey still isn’t quite sure what Ross does for a living.
