Edibles & Chill: You’ll Need Some CBD Watching These Thrillers

Ahhh, the movies, how I’m sure we all miss it so! We miss going for a nice evening out, paying $20.00 for a tub of buttery popcorn, and hoping the movie is good so you don’t regret the money you just spent. Because let’s face it, we don’t mind shelling out money for the things we enjoy!

This begs the question, how can we make sure we enjoy the movies? Sure, we’re having to “Netflix and chill” now with everyone and everything on lockdown, but that’s even more reason edibles are great for movie pairings.

Whether you’re into CBD edibles, or the combination of both CBD/THC there are some great movies to throw into the mix!

The Matrix

Don’t you just love a mind-bending, science-fiction thriller with alternative realities? Besides the fact that it seems like we’re already on our way to a dystopian society with the idea of digital IDs being tossed around nonchalantly, this film is great to have with a CBD edible because watching this movie given our current social climate might make some people feel like we’re actually headed for the Matrix!

Get Out

This movie was a big-time hit . . . I mean, come on, the sunken place is seriously a terrifying concept. This twisted lady sends him into a deep, deep state of hypnosis with the sound of a spoon . . . a spoon?!? A CBD edible is definitely needed while watching this because you want him to actually get out! There’s so much tension building up in this movie CBD will keep you mellowed out and ready for any jump scare.

Devil

Yes, the name alone is terrifying, but this horror thriller is enough to scare the best of us. Something is happening in the elevator, they’re all trapped, and every so often the lights go out and someone dies.

Of course, the people in the elevator are all suspicious of each other and some feuds erupt, but it ends up being the person you’d least expect. I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it, but it’s trippy! You’ll need that edible to keep the nerves at bay, and honestly, you might just be a little freaked out after it’s over . . . so eat up.

Dream House

A family has just moved into the neighborhood, but did they really? The husband and wife find out a family was murdered in their house, and the murderer is still lurking around. The husband has such an “epiphany” (plot twist) that will leave your jaw wide open, and make you very sad at the same time.

A man has to clear his name and say goodbye to his family, but which man has to do this, Will Atenton or Peter Ward? Hmmm . . . the plot thickens.

Frailty

You’ll probably go through most of this film feeling bad for the kid after he thinks his Dad has completely lost it, because he tells his two sons that God came to him and told him to do his work by getting rid of the demons that walk amongst the earth.

The way the story is told, you don’t know until the end which brother is narrating the story, but one of them is carrying on with their father’s anointed mission.

Gone Girl

There’s nothing like a woman scorned, and boy, she proved just how scorned, and how crazy she was in this film. Sure, he cheated, but faking your death and setting your husband up to take the fall is pretty extreme. Take the edible of your choice while you try to follow the chain of events that leaves a “girl gone” and her husband left to pick up the pieces.

Gerald’s Game

A husband and wife go away for the weekend to “work on their marriage”, but things go terribly wrong leaving the wife handcuffed to the bed for days fading in and out of reality.

It’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s not with any Stephen King adaptation. Her dead husband fades in and out of the narrative making it hard to figure out what’s going on. Take some CBD and stay chill while monsters, stray dogs, and all-around eeriness take over your screen.

It’s a wrap

Now that you’ve got some great movie suggestions to pair with the CBD edible of your choice, you can bust out the popcorn and watch any movie you want because your nerves will be all the way relaxed. Sure, there’s a lot going on in the world, but that’s even more reason why these thrillers and CBD can turn any night into some fun!
