'Dune Part Two'’s release date has officially dropped and fans are already excited! Watch out for Sand Worms as we dive into 'Dune Part Two'.

Here’s why ‘Dune: Part Two’ will probably be better than ‘Dune’

Dune Part Two’s release date has officially dropped and fans are already excited! After such a successful box office opening and critical acclaim, Dune Part Two is set to drop on October 20th, 2023 in a theater exclusive release.

Dune is based on the sci-fi novels of the same name, set in the distant future amidst a feudal interstellar society in which various noble houses control planetary fiefs. It tells the story of young Paul Atreides, whose family accepts the stewardship of the planet Arrakis as he tries to navigate ruling and the politics of this intergalactic world.

Of course, Twitter’s excitement for Dune Part Two has already hit the stars. We traveled at lightspeed through the threads to find more information and the best reactions to Dune Part Two. Watch out for Sand Worms as we dive into Dune Part Two

Box office success

After landing the biggest three-day total for WarnerMedia in theaters and on HBO Max, it’s no surprise that Dune Part Two has already been greenlit. Even before the film aired, WarnerMedia executive Ann Sarnoff strongly suggested a follow-up was definitely on the table.

“Will we have a sequel to ‘Dune’? If you watch the movie you see how it ends. I think you pretty much know the answer to that,” Sarnoff said in a recent interview with Deadline. The excitement extends to director/writer Denis Villeneuve who was happy to see that the studio got behind the project so quickly.

So what can we expect from Dune Part Two? According to Collider, the focus may shift from Paul to Zendeya’s Chani, which already sounds like a fun twist on the sequel novel that already has a lot of odd twists as Paul deals with the aftermath of the first book. All we know is that this project is definitely a labor of love.

New universe order

Villeneuve, in his excitement to start the project, seems to be busy already, having started writing Dune Part Two months ago before it was even greenlit by WarnerMedia, which he discussed with Collider in a recent interview.

“I’m writing [Part Two] now, and I feel like I’m eight years old again,” Villeneuve said, “That’s very uncommon for me. It’s the first time I’ve experienced it where I’m watching one of my movies, and I have a moment of deep gratitude, of deep joy, and I say, ‘Thank you, life, for having allowed me to bring that to the screen.”

With so many sequels, such as Dune Messiah which follows Paul as he becomes Emperor and must balance the religious wave he has created, Villeneuve already has a lot to work with when it comes to this sequel. As of right now, all we can expect is more action, adventure, and high-flying space drama that will have you hooked from start to finish.

Twitter is flying high

Of course, Twitter is already gearing up for Dune Part Two in the only way the platform knows: memes & puns. The title puns have taken on many of the threads, joining those who are simply excited to see what happens next in this rich universe. Reactions include:

This got a chuckle out of us, we won’t lie!

Yeah, these puns are just *chef’s kiss*.

Case in point.

The soundtrack really does slap, though . . . .
