‘Don’t Breathe 2’: All the movies you should stream now

There have been quite a few life adjustments to make over the past few years, to say the least. As the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic rages on, people have been forced to adjust their lives to the constantly changing precautions meant to slow the spread of the coronavirus. One industry which made a massive change seen by entertainment fans worldwide is that of the box office.

As theaters around the globe oscillated between closing & reopening since March 2020, the people behind some of Hollywood’s biggest movies opted to release new movies on streaming alongside theatrical release.

Now, while theaters remain largely open, you can still catch some of Hollywood’s latest flicks from the comfort of your own home – for now, anyway. We’ve gathered a list of some of the hottest new movies out now which you can check out from the couch on some of the world’s major streamers.

Don’t Breathe 2

Don’t Breathe 2 is one of the most talked about new movies out now. However, we hate to break the news to you this way, but the movie isn’t up for streaming yet, and is one of this year’s flicks putting all their bets on the theatrical box office.

However, Don’t Breathe 2 will be up for streaming in no time, as the film has already been in theaters since August 13th.

Don’t Breathe 2 follows up the first film, in which a gang of teens go toe to toe with a blind veteran in his house to try to rob him, and things quickly get super creepy. The sequel flips the scripts on audiences, as our blind villain becomes somewhat of a hero protecting a young girl in Don’t Breathe 2. You’ll have to wait a bit to stream, but many horror fans say the new sequel is worth the wait.

Vacation Friends

The latest big budget comedy flick to come to streaming seemed to pop up on Hulu out of nowhere last weekend, but most movie fans weren’t disappointed. Insecure’s Lil Rel Howery & Yvonne Orji play the straight man & woman in this surprisingly original buddy comedy which allows John Cena & Meredith Hagner to flex their comedy skills.

Marcus & Emily (Howery & Orji) head home to plan their wedding after partying hard with hotel-mates Ron & Kyla (Cena & Hagner), only to find their titular vacay pals took their time too much to heart when they show up at the wedding. Unlike so many contemporary comedies, the movie doesn’t rely on pop culture references, and allows the main cast to show off their chemistry in this feel good romp.

He’s All That

The long-awaited She’s All That reboot came to Netflix over the weekend, and millennials & zoomers alike had something to be excited about.

While the elders were happy to watch an updated version of the 1999 classic with cameos from the original cast, zoomers had an extremely modern love story equipt with TikTok supernova Addison Rae in the starring role.

He’s All That tells the ultimate makeover turned love story and manages to produce some decent laughs in the process. Any fan of the original will enjoy the film’s winks & nods to She’s All That, and the next generation will surely eat up the social media-heavy romance tale.

Reminiscence came to HBO Max in late August, and with it, audiences were given a big budget Hollywood thriller in the comfort of their own homes. The Hugh Jackman-starring neo-noir transcends the traditional detective story, relying on a memory-driven plot bringing movies like Inception, Shutter Island, and even Momento comes to mind.

Reminiscence is moody and ambitious, and earned divisive reviews upon its release. Make up your own mind and check the film out on HBO Max before it’s pulled after a month-long run.
